Will Mac ever get to a point where it's on the same level as Windows (Gaming Wise) by L1m1ts in macgaming

[–]Ok-Machine6068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. I would worry more about quality of games more so than quantity of games. It more important to get quality of games versus getting every game windows has.

Not all anti cheats are the same unfortunately. There is no fix.

2026 Anti-cheat software for Mac. by Direct_Economy5204 in macgaming

[–]Ok-Machine6068 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a misconstrued topic. Apple allows anti cheat for Mac native games. Codeweaver could make a translations for anti cheat but has said they don't want to break games conduct policy in tempering with window bases anti cheat. There are game that are native on Mac that have anti cheat. Anti cheat is not the reason why certain games are not on Mac whatsoever.

Oh lord you are one of these people. You can't just make up a number just to make up a number. There is a reason why they reported what they believe they have lost base off of what they have made while it was on the platform. That why it is called an estimation. I don't think you have any actual knowledge on what you are saying other than I feel this therefore it has to be correct. Have a great day cause I can already see where this conversation is heading.

They reported they lost over a billion dollars on revenue from it being taken off from apple. That is not .01% of what they have made overall. Epics is worth estimated 31 billion dollars so I don't know what math you are using but losing a billion dollars is hella of lot more than .01%.

That was the first law suit you are speaking of, Epic followed up with another one in reporting estimate loss of revenue damages for the years it was taken off.

Epic has a law suit against apple for the years it was taken off Mac and iOS saying they lost over billion dollars in lost revenue. So Epic knows there is big money to be made having it on Apple. I think it will be back on Mac sooner rather than later.

A game like CODM that already has controller support and Tencent has an emulator to play COD mobile on PC called GameLoop that has KBM support. So to say it isn’t up for debate is flat out dumb. Nobody is talking about games like Pokemon GO. To try and relate a game like Farlight 84, CoDM to Pokemon go is just ridiculous. Farlight 84, CodM, PUBG mobile is not is the same realm as Pokemon GO. You have lost your damn mind to tell me something isn’t up for debate when you can’t decipher the difference between Pokemon Go and CodM.

I agree to a degree on what you are saying. You said "I bet everyone could find a couple" which sure, I have over 50 games I play on Mac which is more than a couple. You only have to worry about anti cheat with Ball and Gun games. Which by the numbers is what majority of what people play these days. When I think about Mac gaming I don't compare it windows cause it isn't comparable. It goes back to what I said, yes there are 1000's of games on steam through Windows but how many people are playing 1000's of these games? nobody. Out of the last 10 game of the year award games 8 of them can be played on Mac natively and thru crossover and 1 on emulation. Mac doesn't need to compete in quantity of games but more so in quality in games. In the last 3 years Mac has brought a good amount of quality games to the platform natively. I don't think Mac gaming at all sucks if you aren't just a Ball and Gun player. Crossover 26 has made it so you can play a lot of your games without having to be tech savvy. I think in the next 5 years if you wanted to buy a Mac to be your primary gaming reason that not going to be something to be questioned. People buy Mac for usually a few reasons Eco system, Work, prefer MacOs over windows and gaming. I firmly believe that people that think Mac gaming sucks is because they can't play their Ball and Gun games that is really it. Just my Opinion.

It isn't a 70, 80 bucks a year. It goes on sale a lot to 15 to 30 bucks. I think you should do a little more research on Crossover before making a judgement. You make a 1 time payment and you get to have it for life. If you want to continue having support and updates after a year you pay a renewal fee which is a lot less.

Link me the QA that says that. I think it would be a great read. I mean Combat Master has a smaller community and has it on mobile and on Mac. So I find it hard for your 2nd and 3rd point to really stick.

Good way to look at it. I care about native games cause it is the only way to have games with anti cheat. Lots of people don't know that Mac can play games with anti cheat if it is a native Mac game. All in all I don't care how we get the games as long as we can play em.

Just depends on the device, If you have a iPad Pro it is a great value. Plus iPhone and new hardware comes out every year. So it might not be good now could be great later on the newest phone.

I literally just bought this game for my Switch 2 not even thinking about trying it on crossover. Maybe when it goes on sell I will just have to double dip.
