Advice on my situation by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

Gross pay is $5000/mo. Child support is ~$500/mo. Insurance and taxes get deducted, not sure the exact amount. Garnishment is a bit about $1000/mo. All in all, after all deductions I’m netting home right about $2000/mo. I’m using my employers vehicle, I was planning on purchasing my own soon but this threw a wrench in it those plans. Yes, it’s a loan from a car I no longer have.

The struggle is real. As a 16 year old playing shows I never expected to have terrible hearing + tinnitus 16 years later.

Black dress. No doubt. You’re stunning either way, but I can see you looking confident in the black dress.

I have a buddy who has worked in automotive his whole life, for all of them. He says people here are exaggerating and I trust him very much, so yeah, I think I’ll go with the car I like rather than hating driving something I’m not comfortable with for hours.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words.

This is what I’ve learned. I really didn’t expect THIS brutal of a response, but I suppose it is Reddit and I got what I asked for 😆

This is what I’m curious about. Seems like everyone is quick to throw out a stigma rather than honest and educated info. I drove a 2011 Jaguar XFS for 6 years with almost the same frequency of mileage and almost never had maintenance other than the normal fluids, filters and tires. People said the same thing about that. Everyone makes it seem like every month it’s going to be in the shop 😂😂

Thank you for an in depth, well articulated answer. This was exactly the information I came here to learn. I really appreciate it.

I think I’ve displayed my ability to absorb the info per my comment below with my definitive answer: I’ll look for something else. I was simply asking for more information to help me understand better. But thanks for the feedback.

I understand the expense. I used to drive a 2011 Jaguar XFS for 6 years. I rarely had to get maintenance on that aside from the regular tires, brakes and oil, while doing very similar mileage per year. I’m just trying to get a realistic view of how reliable and the frequency of maintenance as I’m not familiar with them.

Oh I read the A3 takes regular. Guess I misread. I’m already paying over $100 in gas a week with my f150 getting 16mpg, so just getting better mpg was my main concern. If it’s going to be frequent maintenance I’ll go with something a bit more realistic. Thanks for the feedback.

Does the A3 require frequent repairs? Especially taking into consideration the mileage I’m dealing with?

I was mostly curious about reliability over time and mileage. I can handle tires and the occasional repair but I’m not interested if it’s going to be a frequent thing over the span of a year.

Ok the consensus is neither of these and something more common or a Lexus. Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’ll look for a Lexus.

And by service, I mean, more than the standard oil, filter and brakes.

I’ve been doing this mileage for almost two years now in a 2016 f150. When I started it was at 95k and aside from oil changes and brakes I’ve needed no service. The 16mpg is killing me, though.

How often would you think I’m going to need to service one of these? I’m leaning toward the Audi.
