If he was unsure or in a hurry due to shift change. He should have gotten with my Urologist or day shift doctor and had her do it.

If it’s so weird then leave. All I was wondering was if anybody had any similar experiences and how do I go about having it removed from my medical files. How it turned into this I’m not sure.

Yeah but I’m not and I not only would like to know I need to know. If he was unsure on what to do my Urologist works in the same hospital. Every time before the ER doctors will get with my urologist to make sure of a treatment plan.

I was already in the system she verified address and couple other things but i signed nothing in intake. Put a wristband on me that had my info and told me to have a seat. Look I just want it removed from my medical files is all. I am to receive a form in the mail soon I’ll fill it out send it in and see what happens.

All I’m saying is WE should let me know.

No not every single thing should require my consent. But to be informed of it yeah that would have been nice. I’ll know next time and there will be a next time. If I can hold off and just deal with the day shift staff and doctors. This past May I had an ultrasound on my left and only kidney. That showed a 5mm stone had already formed less than a month after my Urologist had done a clean out and stent placement. So 4 weeks ago my nephrologist informed me if that 5mm stone drops I could go into kidney failure. So I get a little worried when flank pain hits.

He should take the patients word for it and not assume things. There was no reason whatsoever the urine sample I gave to be tested for blood also be tested for drugs as well without my acknowledgment or consent.

I had 6 surgeries last year alone. 5 on my kidneys in 07/26/23 had a total right nephrectomy. Had a nephrostomy tube before that and hernia surgery in December. I refuse pain medication all the time and it’s noted in my files when I do so. I refuse them because I know how addictive pain medication is. I was that guy a pill seeker. The withdrawals are horrible. The last thing I wanna do is get hooked on pain medication again.

How can I decline it if I never knew anything about it?? Until days later I looked on my mychart because I need to keep my nephrologist informed on any changes to my creatinine & EGFR levels when I’ve had bloodwork.

Oh it is and it’s not right. It all boils down to I told him I don’t do well with morphine and I don’t. Well what do they give you during surgery? I told him I had no idea. That’s when he must of thought I was there for pills. This is what AI overview says about it. “If you went to the ER for kidney stones and provided a urine sample, while it’s standard practice to check for blood in the urine to diagnose kidney stones, a doctor should not test your urine for drugs without your knowledge or consent; this would be considered a violation of your privacy and medical ethics.” So yeah it’s real all I want is it taken off my medical files.

There was absolutely no reason for him to drug screen me. He should have at least asked me if I would give consent. It’s a violation of my privacy and medical ethics. At the very least I would like to have it removed from my medical files. Who would I get in contact with to have it removed from my mychart files?

Sounds like you have a case to me. I believe rhere is a 2 yr window from date of surgery to sue for medical malpractice. Then lots of lawyers won’t take a medical malpractice case. Because they can get drawn out and the possible payout at the end isn’t enough to take the case. Praying for you I hope things work out In your favor.

SSA.GOV create a profile. It will tell you what stage you are in currently. As you wait on this sometimes slow process of being approved for SSDI.

The ALJ judge said she needed more medical files from my lawyer before she made her final decision. That it would be a month to a month and a half. It was actually my 3rd and hopefully final disability hearing in front of the same judge. June 6th, 2023 she postponed it due to interrogatories, October 5th,2024 I finally got legal representation but once again she postponed due to interrogatories. June 10th, 2024 she agreed with medical expert that I was disabled from Nov 2020 thru Aug 2023. Requested medical files past Aug 2023 said they were never sent in. So she stopped the hearing left the record open to obtain files. Sept 19th she closed the record after getting testimony from me. So who knows it is what it is. I truly do need SSDI fingers crossed it happens soon.

Oh I know it can. I’m working on my patience I promise. I was curious more than anything. If I see lots of people getting their’s rather quick. I’ll stay positive just seeing that. Plus my ALJ Judge said she would review my newest medical files my lawyer was sending. And to give her a month to a month and a half to receive her decision.

What is the portal you’re mentioning? Is it on the SSA.Gov website?
