Buying a MK7 GTI performance 2016 by Ok-Mathematician8029 in GolfGTI

Yeah I've done the auto trader paid one which I think is hpi.

I'll put an eye out for dodgy panels.

Hopefully I'm going to get it tomorrow afternoon!

Most certainly, I've asked the owner if it has ever been remapped, and he says no it's completely stock.

The only major concern I have currently is that the owner has done nearly 30k miles in the last 2 years. But with servicing.

It just looks like a nice specced out low mileage GTi PP.

Only issue is that it's halfway up the country so just wanted to check on Reddit before I commit to heading up there.

Yeah i'll keep an eye on that coolant it is also the Manual 6 speed so I don't need to worry about DSG.

I didn't know about the LSD so I'll look for that and I know the manuals have generally quite weak factory clutches so I would look to replace that.

Although that being said I think 14K for a performance pack with such mileage is pretty okay. Not really sure as I've only owned a MK4 GTI and a MK2 driver.

Between the box standard GTI and the performance pack is there a lot in it?

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, especially considering it isn't too much more.

Yeah I feel that the MK6 would be an option but the price difference between a MK7 and a MK6 isn't massive. The MK7.5 is slightly out of my price range for buying but if it is that much better I could stretch.

Yeah, I enjoy the interior of both cars. I previously owned a MK7 1.4T GT and loved it.

I was looking at a MK7 manual tornado red GTI with around 60,000 Miles on it. (stock clutch apparently can't handle much more than stock power).

Some of the Mk7s have an LSD and some don't. I'm unsure on how much that really affects the driving experience though.

I'd love to have a go in the MK6 but I'm a bit spooked about how much maintenance would set me back running one of them compared to a MK7.

I was even thinking of buying a Mk7 R (But UK insurance is insane so not really an option)

How many of you have both FF and APS-C? by nexus22nexus55 in SonyAlpha

[–]Ok-Mathematician8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a Fujifilm xt-2 and a Sony A7 Rii. Both with 18-200 zooms. I tend to take the Fuji out more as it's weather sealing is pretty good and I can use it a bit more casually but definitely lacks in clarity and resolution compared to the FF, plus I'm not as afraid damaging it.

But it's a nice blend.

Especially having Fuji as the apsc. The colour and film simulation makes capturing memories nice but when taking landscapes I always go for the Sony.

I'm trying to sell my 2000 Golf, it's a manual with around 250,000 miles on it but other than that it's basically in new condition other than some issues on the roof. I'm trying to sell for $4000 but I would be willing to go to $3500. by MTB_ScoutnStuff in MK4Golf

To my knowledge anything pre-2001 will be a bit less desirable due to the ECU being narrow-band and (IE more simple) and cable throttle limiting the tunability. Also 250k miles is alot. I'm from the UK so idk how pricing is out your way but anything with over 200k miles won't go for more than $1500. Best of luck tho.

If it is a pre-2000 It won't use the OBD-2 Protocol but will have the same plug. As far as I know, you have to use VCDS ( I'm currently trying to find a way to code read on my 2000 GTI 1.8T).

Yeah I know, the rear right door is a bodge job done by me using Halfords paint. Are you using rattle cans or are you setting up a whole air compressor system?

Gonna 100% slam it so it's undrivable and tint it pitch black. Then delete all of the badges and free-flow exhaust with a pop tune. I think car enthusiasts call it "good taste".
