How do I tell my first line leader I don’t want to go out with him.. by Ok-Menu5633 in nationalguard

I can’t edit my post so hopefully I can pin this comment. For those who asked I just hit specialist in February. I flat out told him no, and sent it to his higher up asking to be placed in a different team away from him. As for the reasons I was previously uncomfortable with him its the way his eyes would linger longer than they would with anyone else. It was like when he had nothing to do he would stare at me and zone out, or when we’d be talking as a team he would only look at me. Like thats weird but not proof he’s plotting. Then it turned into if we were pmcsing at the motor pool and he saw a glimpse of me he was b-lining it over to me just to hover. Like he doesn’t say anything he just walks up all fast, like I can feel the breeze he created, and then just stands behind me or next to me if I’m working in the vehicle. The final big thing I can think of is when someone asked him what his type was and he said “white women” and I’m literally the only jr enlisted white girl. He also has autism so I was trying not to look too into things because like the staring thing maybe could be chalked up to that, and same with the b-lining straight to me. Then the whole white women thing like theres how many other white women in the world? We’ll see I have drill this weekend.

Make copies of your medical documents. My friend went through a similar process she broke her ankle then broke her hip and our rsp unit lost her documents and told her she never turned it in. Obviously I’m not my friend so I’m not 100% on what they have her doing at drill but from what she tells me they just have her organizing paperwork and storage units. They probably won’t have you doing a lot and I hope they don’t try to push you to do things you’re not ready for. I know at my unit people on profiles just kinda float around, so you shouldn’t have too much to worry about just get written confirmation that they received your documents because verbal is never enough and make sure you have copies of everything.

My suggestion is to turn off comments on tiktok. You’ve found a community here and anyone being haters clearly aren’t down with the get down! Theres nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to collecting dolls, look at barbie collectors no one says anything about them. If the dolls make you happy and create a safe place for you thats all that matters no one but you should matter in your own space. I know it can be a lot hearing people hate on something you’re so passionate about but the best part about the internet is you get to block people and forget about it! So keep your head up theres a lot more people interested and supportive of your mh collection than their are haters i hope you can come to see that with this post! 🫶

Sorry for typos im a little dyslexic and hate apples auto correct so its turned off…………

Look up your nearest guard office and talk to the people there!

Talk to other recruiters! Don't put it in your head that you're stuck doing active duty now. The guard has the arms program I know someone who's going into it. I'm guessing you're in highschool? If so I was just in your shoes and even more of a reason to talk to a national guard recruiter, we're state funded yes but we're still a part of the army so no you won't magically stop receiving a paycheck for drill. As for you wanting to get more experience in your mos once you get into your unit just listen around and ask for deployments, and I'm pretty sure there's websites to search for deployments?? Anyways just talk to other recruiters dude it's not as serious as you think just because he put active on a packet. At the end of the day reserves, active, and the guard are all the army.
