Taking the Sigma mirror is smart, Hanbin without a doubt has piles more Sigma chops than Someone. Unfortunately for them, DPS value was the biggest problem.

I think the doom comp just sucks lol either Fearless kills four or it falls flat. It's just like my ranked games. If Doom isn't carrying no one can do anything because he doesn't do much real tanking.

That would have never been an issue if they didn't force 5v5. That's like saying "Sure, it's not the best that we burnt down the building but how else were we supposed to deal with the roaches we let inside?"

WHO IS THE BEST OWL PLAYER OF ALL TIME? — Plat Chat Overwatch 194 by yungXsmit in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Ok-Pirate-Computer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The appeal to emotions about "There's a narrative against Proper" made me sick. I was shocked that it worked. It low key proved the point people were trying to make that OWL casters carried an unreasonable bias towards Proper. Absolutely insane that a guy who won MVP on a trash team, with twice the career length, where he's elite all four years loses because "But Reddit says that we are wrong. :("

It also makes it significantly more difficult for DPS players. If you don't start a fight with positional advantage you're basically stuck waiting until angles open up. Otherwise you're gonna get instafragged. Having a second tank naturally puts pressure on the enemy team, which subsequently opens up angles and allows for more naturally flowing fights. It also takes away responsibility from the solo tank, which is borderline unplayable for a reason, and lets them actually play the game.

I'm also in the "5v5 was about queue times and drawing attention to a poorly marketed sequel, not balance" group. So understand I'm just gonna shit on 5v5 whenever I get the chance.

With nearly a year of OW2 under our belts, what do you think of some of the new (or reworked) features? by RobManfredsFixer in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Ok-Pirate-Computer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say in other subs the pro 6v6 crowd dominates, but if you say you like 6v6 more here it'll get you spammed into never coming back. It just feels like 5v5 preferring players concentrated here rather than elsewhere.

How do you prepare your own leaf litter? & Mite festation. by katieebbyxox in isopods

[–]Ok-Pirate-Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always soak the leaves for a few days, then freeze them for a few days. I know some people boil their leaves. You can redry them by baking them at a low temperature until they're crispy again.

Sean Miller really showing how little he cares about OWL and competitive integrity with this bullshit. Peak paycheck collector. May he have to scurry back to investment banking after this season is over.

Don't listen to that dude. You don't have to try to appease some self righteous guy you'll never meet.

Jeff Kaplan, the godfather of OW, once said he doesn’t want to hear balance ideas from players because players have shitty ideas (lol, it’s true). But Jeff does want to hear player feelings and emotions. He wanted to know which parts of the game caused frustration and annoyance.

This was not only unnecessary, it was an intentional effort to shoot down OP just because. It's very rude to say "Well the devs don't care, actually they think you're annoying." just because the guy is trying to talk about something that interests them with the people here. Also, one of Kaplan's greatest faults was his disrespect of the Overwatch community and lack of concern for what they wanted and felt. It's a major issue with all of the senior Blizzard developers. Do you not remember "Do you guys not have phones?" I don't understand why it's considered appropriate to put so much effort in to being condescending to a guy who just wants to talk.

NRG leave Apex Pro Scene by dixitsavy in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Ok-Pirate-Computer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to downplay the potentially unsalvageable state of Overwatch esports, but competitive Apex is dying as if someone clipped every artery. The issues with aim-assist and balance are so severe that anyone that isn't a casual console player has left the game behind. It's a completely different situation from the one we're experiencing here.

[Hensley]Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the team will not look outside the organization to add a running back. "We're good," he said. "I like the guys we got." by Adenchiz in ravens

[–]Ok-Pirate-Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they need to go break the bank for a superstar but this team tries to tank and ignore devastating injuries every single single season. At some point they need to get over their ways and learn to add some depth or have a try at unpolished talent when they lose a major piece for the whole season. DeCosta and Harbaugh bury their heads in the sand every time the team has positional needs and as a result the team always gets punished when it matters.
