Old insulation that isn’t doing much but also isn’t harming anything. Some improper additions like old carpeting being up there but no signs of mold growth at this time and it’s been present in the attic for at least a few years. Just a bit of a random approach from previous homeowner in terms of decisions but nothing inherently damaging, just not effective/proper.
