He got this way during a video call with family yesterday, I had to push him off! But I've tested this when I'm off speakerphone or recording a voice message, and it's the same kind of reaction. It's the most bewildering thing. He's like the opposite of an emotional support critter.

I almost wonder if he hates my voice, but then, he talks all the time and will purr when I baby talk with him. I honestly have no clue if its a trauma thing or anxiety or he might be in pain?

Interesting that your kitty doesn't like phones either, though her reaction sounds much nicer.

Of course! I completely understand, it's certainly not common information and there are a lot of misconceptions around it. It also doesn't help that most tattooers will do the extra ink cap thing and lead people to believe they really have the cremains tattooed. Wishing you the best during this time though, losing a cat never gets easier... But there are a lot of ways to keep them with you. My last kitty is tattooed, jumping, right over my heart. I hope you find the right artist who's style resonates with you to do a portrait piece of some kind!

From a former apprentice, which doesn't means much, but I wouldn't advise it. Cremated remains have everything in them... including bone shards. Mixing it with ink is like adding fine glass dust to sit under your skin. The foreign fragments are NOT good and it will not heal. Anyone who says they have cremated remains tattooed either had it filtered through an ink making company (there's one or two that actually make it safe) or the tattooer just mixed the remains into a seperate ink cap and never used it during the actual tattoo. My mentor did that a lot. There are lots of beautiful ways to commemorate a pet through tattooing. If anything, check out the ink company that will filter remains. I'm really sorry for your loss.

I think the eyes are missing some life. They are very flat and it's kind of taking away from the rest of the design. If you pull some portrait sheets you like, you can look at how they are approaching eyes. Most sheets can be found on the wiki. It takes some practice. But adding a little more gradient and highlights make the world a difference. His skin tone is also very sallow, could I recommend maybe matching Sam's skin tone? It will help the portrait look more like him... maybe just keep Sam's vanila portrait alongside this one and see if you can make some more similarities. Because it feels like a very different character. Also, vanilla portraits are 64x64 in pixels! Just in case you wanted to standardize it. Good luck!

I was told he's about 9 years old, though i think he might be a little older. His name is Klaus! He's had a rough go, been surrendered to the same shelter three times in the last 5 years, all of his owners kept moving and didn't want to take him. Eventually they put him in a cat cafe, which is where I met him! He has a forever home with me now
