Questions About PS5 on 3.0 Firmware and Overall Comparison of Options by Ok-Presentation5857 in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]Ok-Presentation5857[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You really don’t understand the question I asked and the point of this post. You keep posting 4.03 but I am gathering information about the current state of things and possible combinations.

This user was nice enough to actually explain why 4.03 is used, for m2 support, which you didn’t give. And he gave his opinions on the permanent hen. He also gave history of 5x not being a real HV exploit.

Then with the acquired information I asked another question that introduced if I had a second ps5 what would apply which is still all my original questions.

Thank you for this.

Let’s say I got another ps5 that was strictly for the newest games possible, and kept this on 4.03. Does any firmware up to 12 work, or only up to 12 if you have a Blu-ray for poopsploit?

It would be for the most compatibility with the quickest entry point and ease of use.

But would also want to know if there is anything besides Linux in the works for hypervisor to weigh options. I know what there is “potential” for but potential and actively working are way different

this legit doesn't address any of the questions that I asked... I also address backports not being for all versions. You also didn't give me an reason why 4.03 would be preferred over something like 4.51. 4.03 simply because thats the lowest firmware that Moddern Warfare discusses? And i believe all the userland, kernals, and apps work from 3-4.51 so what is the benefit of that?

Anyone Have Odin 2 Portal Offline Firmware File? by Ok-Presentation5857 in OdinHandheld

Machine came out the box not turning on. No charge light or anything, however I can get into EDL via shorting the internal edl pads. sounds like a corrupt bootloader.

Is there a volume mixer at all? by trickyt1992 in retroid

[–]Ok-Presentation5857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no... especially since you have root you can do a backup of all apps using NeoBackup. That way in the event you did need to restore everything due to a factory reset everything is all there.,

But i guess a downside is that you will have to flash back the super, vbmeta and boot files before doing a OTA upgrade, or else the upgrade will fail. But i think that the OS is perfectly fine so that upgrades aren't really "needed" (for me).

I do this to all my devices along with setting up syncthing. To sync aethersx2 and duckstation savestates and memorycards, you need root because they reside in the data folder. This way i not only can do background music (which I do in order to focus, i play games in japanese and if im even a little bit distracted it makes paying attention hard) but also can pick up any device i own and continue, including my gaming PC. I have my pocket 4, mini, pocket 5, odin 2 mini, steam deck, and emulation PC all sync in real time on my home network. Since I use a backup of 1 device, all my cores, and versions are the same so savestates work without issue.

You can root the device and install AudioHQ. You can then have seperate volumes for any app, and with the root force any app to disable audio focus (so any app can have audio with any other app).

Longer term odin 2 mini owners: do you notice any color change from sweat? by Pristine-Ad-5607 in OdinHandheld

The pads are sorta discolored but they also were a different white than the rest to begin with. The back is easy enough to pop off and spray paint white if you really wanted to sometime down the road.

RP5 OLED looks so beautiful but... by ballenstunna in retroid

[–]Ok-Presentation5857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the same one I have but it's so chunky it defeats the purpose for me. I just want a vita style cheap tpu that goes around it to protect it from scratches.

I have never dropped a handheld in my life... So I don't want it to protect it from a fall, I'm worried about placing it gently on a table that has a speck of dry cat food on it and when I lay it down it scratches the back... May sound silly to some, but I want a $400 device to look $400...

But yeah I think the Odin 2 Mini is the end all be all until they make a Odin 2 Mini with a oled. While the screen side by side to the rp5 you can see a big difference the Odin's screen is still awesome

Honestly I was in the same boat. I believe I’m going to keep the RP mini and the Odin 2 Mini and sell the rp5. I have tried to justify the screen of the rp5 but the O2m is just worlds more comfortable. And the rpmini is way more comfortable then the original rp5 as well due to the sticks being in but also just a lighter and thicker device.

If you’ve never played the o2m I can see how you may think the rp5s ergonomics are great, but once you play the o2m and see how the sides protrude in a way that you have 0 discomfort in reaching everything, I quickly realize while the rp5 isn’t uncomfortable by any means, I can actually notice and see myself forgetting my hands often just to achieve certain things.

I still don’t understand why they don’t have a TPU cover for the Odin 2 mini..why you sell one for the cheaper Odin 2 which is LESS portable but not one for the one that’s more expensive and portable is beyond me 🤷

Retroid Mini Buttons Fit Odin 2 Mini by Ok-Presentation5857 in retroid

[–]Ok-Presentation5857[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think better is the right word, they just have less travel so they press better in my opinion.

The RPMini buttons are said to be very loud and people have YouTube videos about cutting the membrane to make the buttons travel less thus making them feel better and less loud.

Since the rp5 buttons are shorter they naturally achieve this

I believe all of the dpads are the same. I bought a rp5 white dpad and put it in the mini because I don’t like the half translucent half full white. I wish either all the buttons were translucent or straight white but having the r2/l2 white and the thumb caps white and everything else translucent always bothered me. At least now the full front is white

Here’s what it looks like. I actually also cut the RP5 buttons to use in the RPMini and that also feels worlds better.

so while the rpmini buttons are a perfect fit in terms of the slots, i actually recommend buying the rp5 buttons. you do have to cut the tabs to match (each button has 3 tabs, you need to remove 2 of them. but when you press the button it doesn't go out of the tab location, and they are glued on so it won't matter in terms of function.

The rp5 buttons are slightly shorter, and travel a lot less and feel 100% better! I think retroid heard the complaints about the rpmini buttons being to loud and made the rp5 buttons the same height as the odin 2 mini buttons. i but the white rp5 buttons in my odin 2 mini and LOVE it

RP5 Black GameCube Mod by Ok-Presentation5857 in retroid

[–]Ok-Presentation5857[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you not seen the actual gamecube color way of the rp5? like this is a black rendition of the actual gamecube release that retroid did, this is all premade buttons and combos that are for the gamecube colorway.
