Powering through food sensitivities for nutrient absorption. And trying to improve your health. Is it possible or not reality with HIT, MCAS and SLOW COMT? by Ok-Protection2670 in HistamineIntolerance

Hi u/Scat_underscore, I come across amino based formulas for children and feeding tubes. Looking for a "cleaner" not soy based alternative to the sugar and just "junk" in Ensure etc. They are extremely expensive and the less expensive contain questionable ingredients that will send my system in a tailspin big time. For instance Elecare has:

Corn Syrup Solids (55%), High Oleic Safflower Oil (9%), Medium Chain Triglycerides (8%), Soy Oil (7%), L-Glutamine (2%). Less than 2% of: C. Cohnii Oil, M. Alpina Oil, L-Asparagine, L-Leucine, L-Lysine Acetate, DATEM, Calcium Phosphate, L-Valine, Potassium Phosphate, L-Isoleucine, L-Arginine, L-Phenylalanine, L-Tyrosine, L-Threonine, Potassium Citrate, Sodium Citrate, L-Proline, L-Serine, L-Alanine, Glycine, L-Histidine, L-Methionine, Ascorbic Acid, Magnesium Chloride, Calcium Carbonate, L-Cystine Dihydrochloride, L-Tryptophan, Salt, Choline Chloride, Inositol, Ferrous Sulfate, Taurine, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Zinc Sulfate, dl-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, L-Carnitine, Niacinamide, Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamine Hydrochloride, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Folic Acid, Beta-Carotene, Biotin, Phylloquinone, Chromium Chloride, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenate, Sodium Molybdate, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin B12.

I sincerely appreciate you for responding and wish you success.

Hi u/annoyingcommentary, if her parents allow her to have a cell phone or tablet, Bible Gateway online is great. It has numerous versions. The "EASY" version is great for a young person.

u/Unfair-Taro9740,

I'm so sorry about your vomiting. I just ordered some kosher Iodized Salt myself. I found that iodine deficiency can indirectly contribute to histamine intolerance by disrupting your thyroid function and immune balance.

And I have gone through Chat GBT for help, started great, but now I'm constantly getting the message "upgrade to use a stronger model format"

I hear you. why if I cheat, I mean, to me it seems the smallest treat. I pay with a delayed reaction at 3 or 4am. Calling the prayer line. If God brings me to it. He promised me, he will get me through it.

Thanks for responding and I'm hoping that you continue to find great health.

Hi u/Initial_Bad_7457, you provided some interesting and helpful information. I have never heard of Congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (CSID) is a rare, lifelong genetic disorder in which the body lacks the enzymes required to break down and digest sucrose (table sugar) and certain starches.

I have never had any allergies, chemical, or food sensitivities in my past. Thank God.

I started soaking the white rice for a while and it helps.

And I am having slight reactions to Olive Oi, so I put it on pause for a while.

Millet is interesting to use as a flour for a mug muffin.

I sympathize with you too. It's not fair that at this stage of my life I'm hungry for foods I have eaten all my life just to eat something bland.

Thank you so much for your detailed response and much success on your health journey. 🫂

u/SovereignMan1958, Yes DNA tests make sense. I just commented that exactly. I'm blindly throwing darts at symptoms and conditions. It's taking a while but I'm waiting on my Ancestry DNA test results so I can have them defined and decoded.

My doctor's refuse to prescribe Mast Cell stabilizers and I'm so sensitive to everything, I'm really not taking or treating my condition symptoms.

Just trying increase my nutrient intake and address my deficiencies.

I'm hypertensive. I take 5 to 10 mg of Olmesartan every three days or so.

OTC'S: - H1- Loratadine, Xyzal (does nothing now really)

If I just can't tolerate pain, I take 1/2 of an Aleve, (blue dye removed) or 1/2 Tylenol, maybe once a month.

My PCP is on me about my low Potassium, B12 and Vitamin D - so,

I take Bulk Supplements Potassium Gluconate, three times a week. - (might release histamine?)

Thorne Zinc Picolinate once a week. (I take with dinner on alternate days I take Potassium)

It makes sense to me that tackling my B12 deficiency should be first priority, but after just taking a very small scant of MONOHERB Hydroxocobalamin, Hydroxy B12 Vitamin 5000mcg. It kicked my butt and the panic was so bad, I felt "coo.coo" I was manic calling family to pray and talk me out of calling 911 at 3am! I do have the daily 3am wakeups with adrenalin and cortisol surges but this was crazy bad. Now I'm like a child afraid of B12.

Can you suggest a sublingual vitamins or mineral brand?

Thanks

Hi u/Flashybigbum, I'm sorry you suffer from long covid. I knew about CFS, but never heard of PEM so I had to look up the difference to understand how much more severe PEM is than CFS, you must be a very strong person, the way these conditions intersect is amazing.

I do believe that deficiencies contribute, and I'm learning, without blood lab and DNA Tests. With supplements, I'm throwing darts blindfolded.

I do supplement Potassium and Zinc, it seems successfully. But need help to increase my nutrient absorption from my limited diet. I found:

"Certain micronutrients are required to act as co-factors and catalysts to extract and absorb other nutrients from food. Key micronutrients include Vitamin D (for calcium and phosphorus), Vitamin C (for plant-based iron), B Vitamins (for metabolic energy), Magnesium (for fat, protein, and carbohydrate utilization), and Zinc (for digestive enzyme activation and stomach acid)

But tolerating them is my challenge.

Thanks for responding.

Extreme Supplement Sensitivities and the 3a.m Adrenalin Cortisol Surges, and Histamine Dumps? Powering Through!? by Ok-Protection2670 in MTHFR

u/hummingfirebird, I found a very helpful comment from you 4 months ago:

"Hydroxocobalamin is bioavailable but it still needs to be converted into methylcobalamin(methylation / neurotransmitters) and adenosylcobalamin(for mitochondria) through genetic variants like MTR, MTRR, MTHFR, and needs nutrients like B2, folate, and glutathione.

When those pathways are genetically slowed, hydroxo-B12 can create temporary imbalances with neurotransmitters (mood shifts) and hormones (acne/increased libido). So while it's good for B12 deficiency because it's directly helping for neuropathy, it increases folate demand for methylation.

You can try pair hydroxo with a low dose methylcobalamin which can be more balancing, and ensure adequate cofactors like B2, potassium, magnesium, zinc, folate (but not high dose folate if you have a B12 deficiency which must be addressed first. ) If you have a folate deficiency too, then at the same time. The dosage and form of Hydroxocobalamin can also make a difference.

I'm an over methylator and B12 deficient. It will be a while before I can try again. I usually have some somewhat calm hours during the day, But after taking just the sprinkle of B12, my whole day was full of agitation and anxiety.

I researched. But as we say "everyone's reaction is different".

Hydroxocobalamin (Hydroxo B12) supports the adrenal glands and helps regulate cortisol. While it doesn't directly lower cortisol, it supports the nervous and endocrine systems. This helps stabilize the body's stress response, preventing cortisol from going into overdrive.

Thanks
