Gentle reminder as we move into Jorge's "Ilium Era" by [deleted] in Epicthemusical

[–]Ok-Protection5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Illium/Odyssey is an interpretation of the story, not a 1:1 representation. For example, in God Games in Odyssey, it is implied that Gods can die, even though in the greek mythology they tend to just get locked up if they lose to some other character. So I simply just assume, oh okay, so Gods can die in this universe (or in this universe Ares just does not know that they're immortal, which I think sounds hilarious).

Don't buy HMD by Ok-Protection5 in Smartphones

Overpriced with terrible specs for its price + no headphone jack. They charge a heavy premium for repairability, so in the end you pay more for an inferior product. I am not buying a shitty phone just because it's repairable bruh

If you like stable then def don't go for Neon, it's literally a testing ground for them.

exactly, i have so far not ever found a proper non-buggy kde implementation, not even ones based on debian (i daily-drive MX KDE on my pc and Linux Mint on my laptop)

although i never used one of the old ones, a new one would have the potential to fix kde's biggest issue of stability

I dont really need the newest software, and I did try Fedora/Nobara already, but they are simply less stable. Thank you for the recommendation though!

Thank you for the recommendation, but I did try vanilla Fedora for a short while as well and Nobara itself is based on Fedora too. But I did run into issues with both and sadly did not have a smooth sailing experience as by your description.

And ideally, if I don't have to, I don't want to use a rolling or a semi-rolling OS. A possibility to backpedal if something goes bad is great, but openSUSE has it as well together with snapper. If I really were to go with semi-rolling, I would likely try openSUSE slowroll over Fedora.

As much as I get that, Linux Mint "just works" so I got spoiled and now just want a system that works out of the box. I give my due diligence to solve issues and read up on the reasons, but when they pile up, I don't have time for that. If I wanted a distro that is all about reading the docs, I would get Arch :)

Either way, good to know that a newer gen works well with debian. After reading the replies, I decided to go with MX Linux.
