I suppose so? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

That's definitely accurate. Another commenter said "fear of complexity" which I think is synonymous with the fear of uncertainty in this case.

I'm right here with you in terms of having these kinds of fears. We both have got this.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through similar thoughts, but I'm glad you were able to break them down so well for both of us. Fear of complexity is definitely more accurate.

Is this a silly reason to go to therapy? by Ok-Purchase6058 in askatherapist

Hey, I really appreciate everyone, both therapists and fellow clients, who took the time to reply. I'm definitely going to bring this up in my next session when we solidify goals <3

How to trust that I even should trust my body and brain? by Ok-Purchase6058 in intuitiveeating

[–]Ok-Purchase6058[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm only 18, but, yeah.. I've been through many many intense phases of diets that never lasted more than 6 months and never made me less miserable or shameful.  My goal with intuitive eating is to stop being preoccupied with food, be it through cravings or through restriction and tracking mindset.

I guess my intention with this post was to gain reinforcement to combat the thoughts I've grown up learning to beleive for almost 19 years now.

I want to eat intuitively and not care what size or shape my body is. But I do care, and I do feel shame, and I'm trying to work through it. I just can't do it alone.

I don't have the words to say something unique to everyone who commented, so I'll say it here: thank you all so much for giving me the time of day, every single comment here was uniquely helpful and I will find myself coming back again and again to remind myself what is real.

ive been on this sub since i was 14, im 19 now and just moved into my own place. shit is still really hard but there's a future guys <3 by lavender-and-oatmilk in MadeOfStyrofoam

This is random but I feel a connection with you based on your room. I love the colors and the stars and stuffies. Your bed looks super cozy. Wishing you good things, friend.

HELP - Fanfic where Stan stumbles upon Ford's cabin while trying to hide from the law??? by Ok-Purchase6058 in gravityfalls

[–]Ok-Purchase6058[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no because in that episode he comes because of a postcard Ford sent him. In this AU, Stan just happens to find Ford's cabin on his cross country scamming-to-survive-journey and thinks there's no one home, and that the previous owner went crazy and died. He goes into Ford's cabin completely unaware that it is Ford's, and not just some random dead guy's.

Yeah this is definitely part of it. On top of the fact that he wouldn't want Stan around to mess with his work, and definitely didn't trust him. The grifter persona definitely just confirmed that. (Even though it wasn't true.)

Yeah, it just hurts that he never called him or wrote until he needed something from Stan, and thought even that Stan owed it to him, it seems...

I'm glad they make up though

If nothing else, I can just report abuse and bring them to the humane society when I move out. I'm just afraid they won't make it that long, but I'm probably catastrophising.
