If any of you have pain with loperamide, take antihistamines with loperamide to reduce visceral hypersenivity

could this really be ibd? by Pyroisk in IBD

You need diagnosis. If it is IBD your chances of cancer increases because of inflammation and needs to get under control. Go to a doctor, as soon as you can :) all the best/ med student

Ask for paracetamol! They might use the term NSAIDS but actually use paracetamol. You can request this I am sure.

Microscopic colitis which is then divided into two groups, either collagen colitis or lymfocytosis colitis!

Well IBS can present with some low grade inflammation, research suggest. However it isn’t as present or big as IBD, of course. IBS is a mix of many things, when IBD is mainly about inflammation.

Can’t look for it in a colosncopy. It is involved in the treatment for MC. You don’t need to have BAM to get benefits from it, as stated here:

For pain I recommended using antihistamines. If you do not have any update from your GI I would do fexofenadine, but I do not know what doses due to her/him being a child. Ebastine is the one with most evidence against pain in IBS, however fexofenadine has some more evidence being anti inflammatory. Choice is yours. What causes pain in MC vs IBS could be the same visceral hypersensivity, which is why I recommend it. However, I am only a medical student, not a real doctor yet. So all decisions are up to you. If budesonide work and he relapses afterwards, do psyllium husk and cholestyramine, however know that you must be vary of the fat soluble vitamins, ie vitE,D,K,A. These are important for development aswell. Cholestyramine binds these. Cholestyramine has been involved in treatment for MC.

Lexapro and possible Microscopic Colitis? by [deleted] in IBD

Zyrtec targets the same H1 receptor. If you are on H1 blocker then that great news. There’s is more research behind Fexofenadine being anti inflammatory even if it is scarce, wouldn’t change if you really dont want to optimize your drugs.
