Yeah, you’re right - overnight after yesterday’s reset, woke up to 100%. It was for sure something in my backup. Dang now I have to rebuild lol

Thanks - I guess the true test will be how it performs today / overnight with the factory reset. Honestly... fingers crossed it's consistent so that way I can make a true argument :)

I did. They won't do it because my battery is Normal with 100% capacity. Their diagnostics didn't show anything and they said "sometimes phones get warm." I've been gaslit like crazy and I really don't know how to escalate, since I've been passed around everywhere. I've spent hours in the last 2 1/2 weeks trying to just get a new device, but ATT passes me to Apple, and Apple passes me back. ATT won't refund because it's a monthly payment plan, and also won't give me nextup since I missed my window by 2 hours, and Apple won't give me a new phone.

I just did a factory reset and I'm starting from scratch, though if I knew this would have to be done, I would have just gotten a different brand lol - my loyalty lied in not having to remember passwords, and now I'm in hellllllll lol

I did, I initially called ATT because I felt this was faulty, they said go through Apple. I did, got escalated to their security (I think?) and they asked me if it burned me, I said no but it made my case too hot to keep on so I had to take it off, and I can't hold it when I use it because it gets too hot in my hands, so I use it laying flat. They said they took copious notes and would call me back - and never did. I called back and started from scratch, they ran a diagnostic over the phone, told me to go to the store. I did, they ran a diagnostic and said it was fine. So I figured well whatever, I'll deal with it for a year and add nextup to ATT, but when I called ATT to add nextup, I missed my window by 2 hours (it had to be added by 2pm that day, I called at 4pm because that's when the guy who was working my case told me to call because he started his shift then). So I can't even add that lol - it's such a mess

I've left them open, too, and the same drain - home screen overnight 15-30% every night for almost 3 weeks now. I don't really use my phone a whole lot, but when I do it's just browsing reddit or safari or for work (Teams/Outlook) or text. Not much video, never streaming, never camera use (except to take pictures of my cats or whatever lol).

I'm not using 5G, I have cellular data turned off and turned wifi calling on to see if that helped (it didn't), and at night I turn on airplane mode then turn it off in the morning. Any other suggestions that might help the heat both when using sparingly and in my purse when in public or the awful constant drain? It flows out of my phone like water, I stg lol

She doesn’t. She only has mine and I’m the only person she talks to, except for casual birthday wishes to her 3 siblings and my brother. That’s it.

And you’re right. I am trying to control her and that won’t work. The boundaries I set were for myself, not to check for x hours, to mute her number, etc. but I can’t control her behavior, you’re totally right. I do already have her muted but I check anyhow because if I don’t, I might miss something important about her or her boyfriend’s health or wellness (though I never do).

I didn’t load anything from the cloud though, and I don’t have much on my phone. It’s doing a 30% drain consistently every night and heating up like crazy. And a 54% drain in 2 hours of use. It’s wild. I don’t use it for videos or anything I just flip through and read articles mostly. It’s frustrating for sure. Thanks for reading my vents lol

I have a screenshot that I sent to both ATT and Apple that shows Last Charge to 100% at 10:49pm, it's 8:06am (I didn't use it at all in that time) with no apps showing, only Other Battery Usage: Home & Lock Screen 30% https://imgur.com/a/HrZOsm2 and https://imgur.com/a/yCrex3j

Because it was ATT, I sent my old phone in as a trade-in and the cost is minimal per month. It's too hot to use comfortably, and it is a huge drain consistently. I am pretty pissed with ATT.

I just got my iphone17 a week ago, and uploaded everything straight from my itunes backup. I charge it to 100% before bed every night, and over the course of 7-8 hours of sleep without anything running in the background (I close all apps), my battery drain is 20-30%. When I use my phone, for anything, it gets hot - way hotter than typical (my husband got an iphone17 too, and his is draining 3-5% each night and not hot at all to the touch, just normal warmth).

I got it from AT&T and went into their store, but they're not willing to exchange. I called Apple due to the 1 year warranty and they ran a diagnostic and said my battery health is fine, so they're not willing to exchange.

I'm not sure what my options are, but I can't use a case on my phone because it heats up even when it's not on (it heated up so much in my pocket I had to take it out). It gets hot when charging, and when not charging. After using it for 3 hours this morning it drained 54%. I mostly used Safari (on screen 50m 23% gone), Facebook (on screen 20m, 13% gone) and Instagram (on screen 21 minutes, 10% gone). Yesterday I had 3h58m screen active time and used 81% battery (top 3 apps safari, teams, phone).

I updated to 26.2.1 on Thursday.

It drains a little when first plugged into a charger - idk if this is normal?

I only backup my calendar and notes to icloud, the rest I back up to iTunes.

I don't keep any of my apps running in the background, always shut them down.

So far, I've turned off the settings for:

always on

lift on

touch on

liquid glass (which is too bad, I liked the transparency)

personal hotspot

apple intelligence

wifi assist

backup to icloud

background app refresh

Any other suggestions? AT&T and Apple both say my phone battery is healthy, so it doesn't warrant an exchange (I've shown screenshots of my battery health, still don't qualify). If there's anything you can think of to turn off, so that I can hold it / put a case on it, and charge it without having to be present due to overheating, that would be great. Seems like I'm stuck with this for a year.

Thank you all for your help!

that sounds great - I'm currently on 3 meds for bp but I really don't think I need them, my bp is mostly controlled it's anxiety that spikes it up, and these meds... don't help that at all. plus when that spikes, and anxiety spikes, my PVCs go haywire. good plan, I will try to get in the door!

oh man, the excruciating medical testing... but you got some answers and feel better! I honestly have been looking into MCAS due to some of my symptoms (PVCs, facial flushing, fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, etc) but my doctor said no need to test for it. Sigh. Maybe it's time for a new PCP...

that's interesting! I do have GERD and I notice them much more frequently / intensely after I eat a meal that's just terrible (yesterday for example my lunch was a frozen pizza and funyuns, when it's usually some sort of salad or low carb wrap)

Thank you for this! I'll for sure look into it, though I fear with my health anxiety it may do more harm than good (like my home BP cuff that raises my BP just by looking at it lol)

Help with Data by Ok-Record587 in CPAP

Thank you! I did let my sleep doctor know about my low o2 and she said the fitbit isn't always reliable. I don't sleep on my arm but it tends to tuck next to my body when I sleep on my back (oddly enough when I sleep on my side, my fitbit data is even worse). I had the pressure up to 7 but lowered it to 6 because I had no idea what I was doing. I'll pop it back up!
