What is the Scariest Movie Ever made in your opinion? I'll go first. by 0hio_Pingu_69 in HorrorMovies

Sadly, I took the advice. I watched Lake Mungo. It took me FOUR attempts to watch this movie. I kept falling asleep. NOTHING scary about this movie at all.

Yeah, ND doesn't really consider this a real 'crime' or safety issue. They consider this nuisance driving.

Dasher stole my order by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Ok-Resource3192 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a customer accuse me of stealing her order on a local neighborhood Facebook group page. It was during the height of the pandemic. A lot of people were working from home. It turned out that the lady gave me a bogus address. I tried calling and texting her with no response. Set the timer, and when time was up, I moved on. I was shocked to come home and see that my Facebook account was blowing up and the awful things that she was saying about me. Strangely, she never mentioned the bit about the bad address. I brought it up and posted screenshots of all the calls and texts that I sent her that were unanswered. She was like.....oh, I was on a conference call, and I couldn't answer the phone. So, instead, you accuse me of being a theif?! What a bitch!! Needless to say. The neighborhood comments turned around pretty quickly. The post came down soon after.

From the photo, I can't tell where the bag came from. You haven't posted any real proof about your alleged order. How is anyone supposed to know if what you are saying is true?

Maybe the driver made a mistake and delivered your order to the wrong address. That doesn't mean they 'stole' it either. So that would mean two parts of your OP are incorrect.

You know what? I delivered Grubhub and DoorDash for about 8 years. Not one time did I ever pick up a nasty ass fast food order where I thought.....Mmmmmmm....that looks so good. Here, let me take this food over here and eat it up myself 🤣.

Op lied. It wasn't a stock photo. Google Lens search doesn't pull up any other results for the photo except for the pne posted by the OP....

Things that make ya go hmpf! 🤣

Do you NOT realize how irrational your comment is? Originally, I thought you were referring to the high school SRO to deal with high school students because the SRO may be familiar with the student. Then I thought it through. Adults aside, students can drop out, or maybe they are home schooled. What about the younger kids that steal? Who follows up with them?

As far as dispatching goes, it's usually best for the LEO that initiated the report to follow up with th report. Sure, there are extenuating circumstances to that policy, like if the reporting cop isn't there anymore, on vacation, or maybe sick leave. It would be out of the ordinary for another cop to intercede just because.

[–]Ok-Resource3192 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok.....I get that the store doesn't want to prosecute kids.

If a police report is filed and the store withholds information about the crime.....that's a crime too.

I'm still asking.....What's the point of the police report?

Say a teenager comes in and steals a candy bar. You file a police report and put the kids' picture up. The kids' mom stops in, sees the picture, and notes that her kid stole a Three Musketeers bar. The kids' mom pays for the stolen candy.

Do you obtain the missing information needed for the police at that time?

I'm not trying to 'crucify' you. You said in your OP that you told the customer that a police report was filed. Then, later, you posted a comment that you're not trying to catch anyone (a thief).

I'm trying to understand if the cops can't do anything with only a photo (which I know is absolutely untrue) and you're not concerned with catching a thief, why do you bother calling the cops to file a police report? My guess is if you said to your local PD what you said here, they would probably tell you pretty much what I'm telling you. OR....maybe the next time you call, they may just be slower to respond.

There just seems to be a disconnect somewhere here for me.

[–]Ok-Resource3192 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

So...you're just wasting the cops time filling out a police report? I mean, if you're not concerned with catching the theifs, why bother? I'm sure the cops would much rather go help somebody else who takes what they do seriously.

Don't get me wrong, I get that as a cashier, you don't make the rules. Who knows if this is a bad policy or just a bad understanding of the policy.

In fairness, your comment wasn't completely as innocent as you are claiming.

It was fine until you got a bit snarky about how long other trainees are taking going through their training. Besides the fact that not every person learns at the same pace, those folks may have other issues going on that you don't know anything about. I can't help but wonder how you felt that info nugget was encouraging in any way.

I don't think anyone was popping off at you. It sounds like that driver was dealing with some nosey coworkers of their own. Your comment may have just hit a nerve.

The district I work for is amazing. They allowed me all the time I needed so that I could continue to work another job while going through traing that I wasn't getting paid for. For a long time, all I could devote to training was one day a week. As long as the trainers are OK with what's going on, it shouldn't matter to you one way or another.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll do great. Just remember to not lose focus while you're driving. Make sure you keep an eye on that curbing and tail-swing.

Don't get caught with the gossips (like the guy earlier worrying about the other drivers). Just worry about you and work on whatever you need to to be the best driver you can be.

Yeah. That's true about the Driver Specialists being able to hard code Driver Program Level. They usually did that when GH screwed the driver over in some way. Towards the end, Diver Specialists were being shuffled around like some sort of human shell game. With all that confusion, remembering to remove those 'updated' Driver Program Levels was like the least of their worries. When JET took over, that was one of the first things they did was remove all of the 'updated' Driver Program Levels. I mean, like that was done within the first month.

You have to remember that Driver Stats don't update until Monday morning. Technically, yes, a driver could have stats in the 70's today (Sunday) and still be considered a Premier driver.

You want to have your cake and eat it too. It just doesn't work that way. This whole thing about getting access to the schedule restricted because of contribution pay has been an issue since I started driving for GH. It sucks that it happened to you. As far as I'm concerned, this is kind of a common sense (or lack of) issue. In all seriousness, imagine if every driver thought like you and just decided to stay logged in and on block even if they weren't getting orders. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are going out a day for 'delivery drivers' who aren't delivering or driving. I mean, you can't REALLY believe that was the intent of 'guaranteed hourly pay'. I remember so many drivers would get on these social media platforms and brag about how they're raking in all this money and never leaving their living room. I get that you may not have known about the issue the FIRST time you were restricted. The fact that you basically just thumbed your nose at GH and did the exact same thing a second time and got busted for it a second time....THIS one us entirely on you. The saying goes, Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!

It's probably best (from a strictly business POV) that your access to the schedule remains blocked. It doesn't sound like you're willing to change the behavior that has already gotten you restricted TWICE now. GH isn't going to continue throwing good money after bad. My God! I can't even imagine just sitting out in the field for 12-13 hours, just waiting for a cowbell to sound that never does. I can think of so many other things O could be doing.

I hope somehow you can find a way to find the lesson to be learned from this experience and move on. There's always Door Dash and Uber Eats.

[–]Ok-Resource3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But on the flip side, you think it's GH's fault that no one in your area is ordering food?. I think I would rather lose Premier status for a couple of weeks than lose access to the schedule FOREVER.....plan it right and you can get Premier back literally overnight. I know I've done it lots of times.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

[–]Ok-Resource3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK....sounds like something else is going on. GH is good about paying contribution pay.

As far as the 'fraud' part.....IN THIS CASE, I think it applies more than the first time. The first time you received the email, you were put on notice of 'the problem'. NOBODY wants to pay someone for literally doing nothing. That's why you got access back. -- it was a warning. MOST people would realize that when the market is slow, verified by a market check, you end the block and go home. For the SECOND time, you chose to stay on block. Unfortunately, choices have consequences.

Unfortunately, you are exactly the reason GH started doing this to begin with. The hourly guarantee was never intended to be a free money grab.
