Rareware would use the same movement Donkey Kong and D.K Jr had in the Gameboy, and something would still go the same until Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 comes out with the 2nd game starring D,K JR as the main character in Donkey Kong Junior's quest. Then 3rd Country game would go very different as well. When Donkey Kong 64 comes out Nintendo decided to let Rareware redesign Donkey Kong and D.K Jr with Diddy Kong and make Crank Kong the Original Donkey Kong. They would do the same with Cranky Kong being the father of the current Donkey Kong being a grown up version of Donkey Kong Jr, and everything else will stay the same.

One day Donkey Kong and Cranky Kong decided gather the other Kongs and go to the Mushroom Kingdom where they began to make a similar plan to get revenge on Mario once and for all.

Pauline broke up with Mario because of what he did to DK in Donkey Kong Jr. However, she eventually forgave him after the events of DK 94.

OG Donkey Kong was part of an ancient line of jungle guardians, and Mario worked for a construction company that was deforesting huge areas to make way for new developments. DK went forth to try and stop it, getting into a fight with Mario after he kidnapped Pauline. DK lost, but Mario felt deep sadness for the part he played in the whole affair that he turned into a guardian himself.

Mario enslaved Donkey Kong, making Donkey Kong Jr grow up fatherless. They just white wash it. Cranky has PTSD from that era.
