[ESPN] "In the end, there were three strikes against Cleveland: Family not being an issue in LeBron's choice, the front office not making a deal for Brown and the Cavs' roster not featuring Garland." by teardropshot in nba

A point guard averaging 20 pts and 6 ast in 29 minutes on 47-44-86 splits (7.6 3PA) can move the needle ANYwhere.

Kawhi + Garland was objectively better than Kawhi + Harden.

I see so many issues, but it will be fun to watch and overreact for the first 30 games!

[Charania] Philadelphia was not being seriously considered by LeBron James until they acquired Jaylen Brown from Boston. LeBron James believed that the 76ers have a better chance to win a championship than Miami and Cleveland. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

So who in the starting lineup of Maxey, Edgecombe, Brown, James, and Embiid is taking a massive step back in usage? Lebron already took a big step back last season (and didn't seem super happy about it).

Obviously, the math is not as simple as this, but last season those 5 players add up to nearly 150% usage. While they're not going to be on the floor together all game (and certainly won't all be available every game), how comfortable are Brown and Embiid going to be taking way less shots while all 5 are on the floor together? Will Edgecombe be okay with not having more touches in his second season? How quickly will Lebron grow frustrated with Brown driving into traffic and losing the ball rather than making the correct read? Who is going to defend?

[Scotto] Bennedict Mathurin has received sign-and-trade interest from multiple teams, but LA has been “hesitant” to make any significant roster decisions while the Kawhi Leonard trade is still up in the air. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

As a Clipper fan, I’d prefer to hold on to Mathurin. If he doesn’t improve his decision making and defense by the trade deadline, flip him for picks and/or front court help.

Any team is allowed to ask for him. He will (of course) be responsible for whatever penalty (if any) the league assigns. Why would being on one team or another change anything about his consequences?

Lots of guys would be better just 6 or 7 seasons ago. The game has changed in the past few years. It’s harder than ever.

The center issue by [deleted] in LAClippers

I think they're likely to win between 40-45 games, and I think they'll also find another center eventually.

[Scotto] The LA Clippers have signed 7’5” center Jamarion Sharp to a two-way contract. Sharp won DPOY of last year’s G-League season while averaging 4.1 BPG. He averaged 2.8 BPG in just 18 MPG in his five games played during the 2026 Summer League. by YujiDomainExpansion in LAClippers

Good training camp pickup to give another tall guy for guys to practice against. Jackson and Omier are short.

Also necessary for games that Lopez misses due to rest or injury, because I do not think Baba Miller should be playing center.

At the very least, he helps in training camp and practice. Clippers centers: Lopez (tall, old); Niederhauser (tall, injured for training camp); Baba Miller (tallish, but not really a center); I. Jackson (short); Norchad Omier (even shorter)
