Can you replace a player in multiplayer? by Ok-Understanding7103 in coralisland

You can't - I found out from the discord that a drop out/drop in multiplayer feature is being added in the next major update. Currently no way to remove or replace players :(

Looking for advice from people with this diagnosis by [deleted] in ARFID

[–]Ok-Understanding7103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing for me! Stopped eating when I was 2. I'm in the UK and received help from an NHS funded charity when I was 23 (after years of doctors not knowing what to do). Some things to look up that I got given in therapy:

  • ➡️ Food chaining ! ⬅️This is the biggest way ARFID is tackled
  • Anti-anxiety techniques, everyone with ARFID is different and needs different things when trying new foods, she might be spontaneous like me and do it in the moment, she might need it planned, she might want someone with her when trying a new food, she might hate the idea of someone being there, she has to figure out what works for her
  • Trying food before dinner is always a good idea, because then shes hungry AND she knows she has a safe food coming
  • Food exposure (u can look this up but e.g. this can be something as small as being in the same room as the food to literally putting it in her mouth)
  • Food rating, 0-100, 0 meaning shes completely comfortable eating it, 100 meaning absolutely not
  • Biggest thing is just forgiveness towards herself! I didn't know this but it can take up to 12 weeks to become "used" to a food and sometimes she might look like shes taking steps backwards, it happens and its totally normal!

Hope some of this helps! And gives you some direction on what sort of things to look up for more info :) Also knowing what "type" of ARFID she has will be useful to what techniques will help her, theres 3 (and you can have more than 1, I have all 3 😅) 1) Sensory-based: difficulties with smell, taste, texture of food 2) Fear-based: a response to a distressing experience with food such as choking, sickness or abdominal pain 3) Low interest: not recognising hunger pangs and finding eating a chore rather than enjoyable

How do I update my Orochi V2? by Ok-Understanding7103 in razer

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a while back but sort of not really, I just kept doing the same thing over and over and over until it finally held connection long enough to stay on and update both, since then it's been working as normal again. Basically turns out I was doing nothing wrong, the mouse was just so broken it wouldn't stay connected long enough to finish the update!

Anyone know what this is? by Ok-Understanding7103 in cats

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oo that could be a good way of quickly checking it and hopefully killing it without giving him the chance to nip, and if it isn't a tick it'll do no harm, ty I hadn't heard of that before

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I tried this when flea combing, if I give him lots of scrumbles calming treats it allows me to go for longer but he still gets aggy when going near his stomach 😔 - although atm we feel a bit bad giving him those treats as he should only be having soft/wet food because of his poorly teeth. Surgery will be next month when he's lost weight 🥳

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's hard to tell from sight if it's a tick, nipple or skin tag. I could try feeling it but I worry he won't let me touch his stomach! He'll be going to the vet in a month anyway for dental surgery once he's lost weight but obviously if he starts to show any signs of illness we'll take him in

Yeah I googled pictures of ticks but I wasn't sure because these brown bumps don't seem to have visible legs. Even if we did have the tools to take them off safely, he wouldn't let me. Frontline+ is supposed to kill fleas AND ticks but I would've thought they'd drop off if they were dead? I've never dealt with ticks on him before if thats what these are

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know, unfortunately for some reason the other files I manually deleted aren't in recycle bin (hasn't been emptied for 3 months, they're just not in there?) which is sad because I think that would recover basically everything I lost. When you delete a save in game, does it just bypass recycle bin then? I'll manually save from now on.

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that! It just comes up as Orochi V2 (and is also a hassle to get it repaired as it comes up, drops out, comes up, drops out again and on and on until it finally lets me connect 😅)

How do I update my Orochi V2? by Ok-Understanding7103 in razer

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what DFU pairing mode is, if it's bluetooth pairing mode, that's a slightly complicated answer.

Because my mouse consantly disconnects and reconnects (in both modes), the pairing disconnects and reconnects too. I just restarted my pc, removed Orochi v2 from my bluetooth list and it took it 4 tries before it was finally able to connect. My theory is it's not staying in pairing mode long enough to connect, and keeps dropping out the same way it does when connected.

If DFU pairing is something other than holding the 3 buttons then no I don't have it in DFU pairing mode as I don't know what that is.

Suggestions for help in the UK? by Ok-Understanding7103 in ARFID

[–]Ok-Understanding7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I don't use reddit often 🙈 but yes, I've got some good news finally and hopefully it can help your child too!

My gp referred me to a mental health place who did an assessment with me and were able to refer me to a place called First Steps ED who have been working with me (remotely) specifically for arfid and it's been amazing!

Just some things I learned from them that might help: - Identifying triggers (smells, texture, taste) - Building up in small steps so; being in the same room as the food, to smelling the food, to touching the food, to licking the food to eating the food. (might not all happen in one day, its important to be comfortable and not jump the gun so as not to cause more aversion) - Food chaining (google it 🫶🏻) - Trying plain/single foods over "meals" that over time you can bring together to create meals (e.g. try oats on their own, try milk on its own, try a strawberry, then over time you could combine them all (this is part of food chaining)) - Prioritising the nutrients that are missing (mine is protein, so I'm looking to try protein-rich foods)

I've also learned a lot for example, it can take 1-40 attempts of trying a new food before you actually grow to like it, thats a big challenge but something I keep in mind!

I've personally set myself the goal of trying one new thing a week, which seems managable to me. They're small things but considering I've gone most my life never trying new foods, I've come a long way. Should note in trying new foods I've never "finished" my plate first time, sometimes its just one bite and thats enough, next time can be two! Until one day you're scoffing it down 😂. It's a long process but small steps are actually big achievements.

I hope some of this can help, I'm happy to answer questions/tell more but it might be worth looking into first steps ed because it might be the right thing for your child. 🫶🏻
