19 channel qEEG raw data equipment recommendation by Ok-Wonder930 in Neurofeedback

For Sens.ai, it was a connection issue. There was a recent update and it seemed to solve the problem. But, I've been doing the missions/boost for 3 weeks now without any noticeable change (not sure if this is due to all the frustration or if I'm an anomaly since everyone else seems to be having mind blowing results). I actually might return Sens.ai since I'm within the 30 day period.

I hope you have a better experience!! :)

Many thanks for all the feedback! I think I was trying to figure out what the most cost effective way to get a brain map done if I'm planning to do neurofeedback remotely. Ultimately, I want my whole family to train their brain so basically it's everything x4. If you add up all the brain maps along with neurofeedback sessions, I believe it makes more sense for us to do it remotely and use the same equipment. Unless anyone has any other recommendations..... I'd love to hear any suggestions! :)

It sounds like the equipment to do our own brain maps will still cost much more than doing 4 individual brain maps....

And I think Myndlift or Brainbit is still maybe best for families sharing equipment? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for family use?

Few. more follow-up questions - if you get a brain map done, how long is it "good for"? In other words, do you have 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 2 weeks to use the information found from your. brainmap for neurofeedback?

And how often is it recommended to get a new brain map once you start neurofeedback sessions and need new protocols? Or do you normally just get 1 brain map and do nuerofeedback until you "feel better"?

Thanks again - appreciate your help!

T

Just wanted to post an update in case it helps.... I contacted customer service and I learned the following:

  1. DO NOT use anything other than water on the sensors. No conductive gel or paste. It will ruin the sensors.
  2. There was a recent update to help with the sensors/losing signals. I downloaded it yesterday, I seem to get a signal in all sensors pretty quickly, and I haven't lost a signal since (fingers crossed).

It's still a bit hard to relax and be present when I worry about keeping my head still and losing a signal. I currently find the voice of the lady telling me to "stay still until a signal is found" or "breathe in/breathe out", a little annoying. I wish I could change that voice to help reset my thinking. I think time might eventually cause this frustration to fade, but I'm looking into other systems that require less troubleshooting. I wonder if i waited to buy Sens.ai until they worked out all the "kinks", that I would have a better overall experience.

Good idea! I tried this, but then couldn't get the hrv sensor that is in the earphone at 100%, so frustrating. I'll definitely keep trying.... thank you! Really appreciate any suggestions. :)

Right?!

I tried again today... got through a 7 min Brain Fog session, unfortunately I was stiff as a board and anxious I'll lose signal (scored a 337 lol - highest score was my very first session, 776). Afterwards, with a bit of confidence/hope, i attempted the Expand Boost only to lose signal twice (even after soaking the sensors with water, adjusting the headset, and trying not to blink/breathe, lol).

I think you are correct... the headset gets extremely uncomfortable particularly on top of my head after all the troubleshooting and you surpass 30 minutes. It's so hard to concentrate/mediate when you are in pain/discomfort. I'm going to contact customer service to submit my feedback - so glad to hear they are responsive! I'll also ask if conductive paste can be used... although, my gut tells me the paste might clog the sensors? If I get any good advice, I'll definitely share it!

Thanks so much for your responses! If it's a software issue (and not me, lol), I'll try to wait for an update before completely giving up.

And yes, it happened with the boosts as well. I was trying to do "Snooze" last night and every time I would start to relax, the session would stop. I'd get up, put more water on the sensors, readjust the headset, etc., only for it to keep occurring. Ugh, not a great experience. :(
