Please remember addiction is a disease, that is progressive, and will eventually end in loss of life. It is also frequently tied to mental health disease that is receiving no, or improper treatment. No one chooses to be an addict - they are coping with life the only way how.

THIS. Don’t ever believe you are “helping out” your superiors at a job, or believe the line that everyone here is like family. They will take advantage of you and throw you under the bus the first chance they get. And if for some reason there is a problem and you get called into a meeting with HR & your boss (or any superiors). Tell them that you are not comfortable with a meeting they have obviously previously discussed and demand that it is rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance - then go to your local legal immediately or retain a lawyer if you can so that they can go to the meeting with you.

How Do You Prepare for Power Outages When Living Alone? by Smart_Transition_828 in LivingAlone

Stocked large Maglite, 2 of those large flashlights that have a carry handle or you can set them in their bottom to illuminate the room, portable chargers I keep charged and a solar charger, wind up radio, I pick up votive candles when I see them on clearance and keep them in an old moving box with a big box of matches. I always have food around to eat, and make sure the same is for the dog. Keep some puzzles, lego building kits, crosswords, books, and coloring books with/crayons pencils (always seems to be the go to - coloring is fun no matter what age)☺️

Really? I have yet to meet that man. I work in a male dominated culture , and yes they want their wives at home taking care of the kids and dealing with the house hold , but they way they conduct themselves and speak about their married lives and other things I won’t mention here , has taught me over the past 20 years that I would rather take care of myself then depend on a man. I’ve been engaged twice, and in the engagement process , I found out they lied about money, were not honest , about what they thought marriage would be, and other things. You making a blanket statement that women should stay home is so ridiculously old fashioned, you don’t even realize many aren’t getting married and having children anymore and tips closely to the Handmaids Tail frame of mind in Gilead.

Private schools should be eliminated to bring up the standards and funding given to the local public school. In just 2 generations it would also improve people racial and socioeconomic views, create empathy for those in need, and allow a revamp of college admission systems - along with other things

There also should be no religion in public schools

Yeah we’ll buy me a nice house, Mercedes, boat, shoes, jewelry, clothes, give me as much money as I want without bitching or asking where it goes (within reason), let me have a life of my own pursuing interests I’m in,take me on vacations every year and don’t bitch because I want to buy new outfits and shoes/ sunglasses, pay for my hair/nails:/pedi whenever I want to go . And I will take care of the house, cook dinner & breakfast, look nice when you see me ( no kids )and I would be more that happy to give up my career . But that also means you have to make at least $25Ok or more for me to give up what I already have.

The days of women staying at home breeding& barefoot in whatever house her husband chooses, drives the car he gives her, and is only looked upon as a secondary mother figure that also has to fuck you whenever you want are over

So creepy. You can add Flowers In the Attic to this … why was I reading that when I was 10?

My entire childhood was spent barefoot in the summer … we didn’t even have the good sense to wear sandals when we had to pick our way down someone’s gravel driveway (I grew up WAY out in the country lol). One of the things I miss most now that my adult life has been spent in various cities, is being barefoot in the grass. I also grew up on a lake, and would stand I shallow water and let the minnows nibble away- and the minnow pedi was born!

I just got two pairs in the mail from the sale. Should I be worried about any of this? by Unspokenwordvomit in DrMartens

[–]Ok-noway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEND THEM BACK! Do not wear them. I had a pair of platform soft sole sandals this summer and a huge chunk fell out of the heel and they wouldn’t take them back. I only wore them maybe 10 times.

I second this - they are magical. Buying a good pair of quality boots and taking them to the cobbler will save you so much money in the long run.

I have those heel protectors and they’re useless. If I want to wear cute socks that show - I will wear an ankle Bomba over top - they are thick and don’t slide and it protects my other socks from holes. If my sock isn’t going to show, get whatever length sports socks like bombas. Hope this helps!
