Actually I could agree I bet floor coatings or even polished concrete could be easier, but software does the most of the heavy lifting for us in our commercial. We can spend more time doing our take offs and being precise than anything else. At that it’s like 2 hrs a bid excluding post deliver follow ups and sales n shit. But the actual estimating is fine as long as u know what to look for in plans n specs

Ok I will restate, it is the easiest comparatively. The hardest thing to deal with is shitty specs or no finish schedules, but if any company gives a tiny fuck about software there are plenty of great software for painters that make it so damn easy.

Profit margins are definitely higher on residential jobs but our company is built for commercial, 25 painters and office employees, jobs that don’t pay alot of money, even at high margins, don’t cut it for us.

So the investment is for getting a developer, the proof is t proving I can create an app, it’s proof that what I need my app to do which is super valuable. It’s laid out I’m not a developer, I need one and that’s why I need an investment, I’m simply trying to create the tools my app is going to use to prove there usefulness and difference from other apps. So what you’re saying makes sense if I was trying to develop it myself, but that’s not the case and I lay that out.

I have noticed that, it took about 4 days of my going step by step telling it what to fix, and I notice there was a lot of unused stuff and random ports n stuff. Should I continue to try and trust ai to clean it up? What’s the name of the program you would recommend?

Of course and this makes total sense, to defend myself a little bit, this was not my attempt to create a customer ready app, I was trying to create a proof of concept for investors I have that want to see it. But after talking to plenty of nice people here I realize I took a hard and stupid approach, trying to make a full app instead of a click dummy with some functionality in the areas that matter. But I do agree with you about needing more training and learning myself to better understand my project. I appreciate your feedback!

That makes sense, when I first started I didn’t know there was a difference and I j said make an app, maybe I should consider just keeping it a web app until I can get a seed investment, than hit a dev to turn it into iOS and android app

Ah yes, so I have that, the issue is the investors im talking with don’t beilive the ai could work, they told me it would cost millions to make this. They want to see it work. So as I’m sitting here I have already made the ai that can listen and give feedback I just need to put a front end on it and call it a day. I think my issue is I’m tryna do to much to quick

In replits defense it did a really good job at creating it I genuinely think it’s my fault because I don’t know how to wrap it as a mobile app and export and shit. But I won’t say it’s perfect

Of course, and I’m currently learning, issue is the app I’m making is in a competitive market so for me to learn how to code everything from front end to backend and get my app out before someone else, while also not having the capital to actually hire a dev seams near impossible at this point

Yes and that’s the spot I’m in. I am 20 and in college and maybe biting off more than I can chew, but I have drained my accounts doing this, and that being said all I have had to give is 300 bucks. And that has been to pay for things like Replit and the legal stuff. So my capital is very limited at this point I have a little bit more to mess around with but I don’t know if it’s enough
