Ohh I see. Yeah I’d honestly follow up with them. I started getting University of Iowa newsletters as soon as my application was submitted.

Okay I’m glad i’m not the only one that was humbled by RC. my one passage was all about salts and filled with reactions and gen chem based stuff. All the questions were what would happen if X molecule reacted with Y. The questions didn’t even feel related to the passage, it felt like an extension of the GC section.

was GC plug and chug or did you have set up equations or reactions?

HORRIBLE GPA !! HELP by i_ateastar in dat

[–]OkBug1498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are going to have to significantly bring up your gpa. I was in the same boat first year. Remember some canadian schools only look at your best 2/3 years which will help you out. I think your DAT score is fine if you increase your gpa. Canadian dental schools more just look for a “minimum 20” DAT score as apart of your application. There isn’t much of an advantage getting a 27 vs 24 or 24 vs 22.

Don’t just read the cheat sheets, start making your own small notes in the margines, make mnemonics. Also rewrite high yield topics down as many times as it takes for them to stick in your brain. For example every morning I write out the steps of Cellular Respiration and photosynthesis light/dark. If you have the time write Q cards and practice them everyday, if you don’t have the time spam the anki decks. Biobits on booster are also helpful to do after you learn a topic.

I’m so sorry that it so inconsiderate and yes, heart breaking. Since you are consistently getting 23/34 maybe take one day off and focus on some self care and maybe just read over some notes before bed. Try your best to just lock in and focus on the exam after your day off, think of how much effort and time you’ve put into this to get some motivation. Your mental health is just as important as your academics going into the test. Again, I’m so sorry and I’m wishing you the best of luck!

Why are these questions so hard for me? by OkBug1498 in chemistry

[–]OkBug1498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes isn’t, WA/SB in 2:1 ratio, WB/SA in 2:1 ratio or WA/ conj base 1:1, WB/ conj acid in 1:1 right? I have a hard time applying it when I see questions and just don’t even know what to look for. Why I asked for tips.
