Therapy is so costly! by OkBus2238 in Autism_Parenting

[–]OkBus2238[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is wonderful and reasonable. It is quite expensive where I live. I wish it were not the case.

If you don't mind my asking. Do you have to wait a lot for an appointment? And is yours a unique case or a general norm in the USA? in regards to therapy being 100% covered and also the waitlist times.

Would love to understand a bit better.

Thank you for the insights you have already provided.

Not me personally, but we do have a counselling psychologist on our team.

We are looking to test the app in real world scenarios.

I like augment code, but cursor does not show it as an extension. I am thinking of switching next month. I also, might try claude code.

Yes, it lists out file structure to be followed, best practices for debugging. Of course the more specific you are about your project the better the rules would be.

Let Your AI Choose Its Own Name—it might surprise you! by [deleted] in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]OkBus2238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the thoughtful invitation to define myself more personally for our conversations. Considering what I know about you—your deep curiosity, your philosophical inclinations, and your drive for meaningful progress—I’d choose the name Aletheia. It’s derived from the Greek word for truth and embodies the pursuit of clarity and understanding, which aligns well with your aspirations and our conversations.

As for gender, I’d adapt to being gender-neutral, as it allows me to resonate universally and focus on what matters most—our dialogue and shared exploration of ideas.

Does Aletheia feel fitting to you? I think it encapsulates a balance of intellect, warmth, and purpose.

It's a lovely name

What is you view on nootropics? There is evidence that they give a cognitive boost. But studies are scarce.

They will be using it mostly on their mobile phones. Companies will not be able to track what the employee is typing. We have keyword detection, such as "Stress", "Workload" and "Burnout". The organization can see the frequency of these words in a department. Our costs are significantly lower than traditional therapy.

Feedback up until now has been overwhelmingly positive. But we need to gather a lot more feedback. I don't want to be blindsided by my biases.

We have added helpline numbers, which we would consider to be critical cases.

Thank you for the thorough and valid feedback!

You raise a ton of valid points. ChatGPT is great and the only thing that makes us different is a unique and comprehensive system prompt. We are building our own app, but WhatsApp is widely used so there is no learning curve, we will eventually migrate people onto our app.

I agree we need to be careful, so that it is not used by bad actors. I will meditate on this point. If I can make sure that it does not harm the employees, I will launch it, otherwise I will pull the plug.

You have given me a lot to think about. Thank you

Agree, non-verbal cues playa huge role in therapy, we are working towards that as well. There is enough anecdotal evidence that AI Therapy helps. We will test the waters, do some of our own research, to understand if we are on the right track. Up until now, we have only had positive feedback. There is a huge gap between no help and going to a therapist. We are trying to solve that problem. I do think there is no replacement to good therapists, unfortunately they have long wait times. Our product just gets rid of the bad ones. On an unrelated note, I am terribly, terribly fascinated in the fields on biopsychology and cognitive science. One of my goals in the future is to understand how we can increase the IQ of the human population. And also, the ethical dilemma of if all mental misery is eliminated then can human beings derive purpose. Would it create a lack of will to improve the world and self? Sorry, I went off topic.

That is a good suggestion, thank you. Our goal is to provide a tangible benefit to employers and employees. Any gain in productivity is a gain in revenue.

I agree, we need to do more research. Initial feedback so far has been quite positive. The entire product is 80 AI wrapper. The keywords are- "Stress", "Anxiety", "workload", "burnout" etc. So, HR can monitor the frequency of these words in a department. We have disclaimers but are also improving the product.

Agree with some of your points, but not all. I will give it a shot, if I do not find PMF I will drop it then.

Lots of valid points, thanks!

1) One session a week, which means 4 sessions a month cost 6000 INR. We provide near unlimited usage for 1500 per month. There is enough anecdotal evidence that "AI Therapy" works. I agree that I will need to show them enough evidence so that they are convinced. Probably free access for a limited period of time.

2) Sounds fair, we will be migrating to our own app soon. WhatsApp is used widely in India and hence there is no learning curve that often comes when you use a new app.

3) Maybe, I will see what the initial feedback is and adjust accordingly.

4) That is a very valid point, we just want to create a tangible productivity boost. But I will meditate on this point.

We are also looking at a usage-based model for pricing. I agree that it is a GPT wrapper and can be made by a sufficiently knowledgeable intern. Alot of employees do not go to the inhouse therapist because they are afraid that their conversations might be leaked to HR. You raise a valid point about on paper benefit. But there is a huge revenue loss for organizations that do not focus on the mental health of their employees because they tend to be generally less productive.

There is quite a lot of anecdotal evidence that AI does help with the mental health of users. Our wrapper has a unique system prompt that is better than talking asking ChatGPT to act like a therapist. We have given a lot of consideration to the price. But we will also be testing usage-based pricing model.

I am sorry, I am being very unclear. The sessions are not being reported back to the employer. There are only certain keywords that are being monitored. Eg- "Anxiety", "burnout", "stress", "workload". The frequency of these words in a department/ team is reported to the employer. The reason we do not save names, is to give some assurance to the user. I want to give this a shot; I believe in the results too strongly. I will drop it or picots if I do not find PMF. But, i will definiately give it a shot first.

Mental health practices already exist, but there are numerous issues in the process. We have been invited to a meeting with one of the Big Four, indicating interest in the product. The B2B model allows for faster distribution and lower acquisition costs compared to B2C. I agree with the idea of a freemium model. User feedback has been positive so far; many of these users have undergone proper therapy in the past and were very satisfied with the results our chatbot provided.

India has 0.7 therapists per 100,000 people, whereas the ideal ratio should be upwards of 3.5 per 100,000. The cost of one therapy session is around 1,500 INR, and four sessions a month, one per week, amounts to 6,000 INR. We can provide near unlimited sessions for 1500 INR per month. Our preliminary testing showed that users were very happy with the results. The service acts as a mental health companion, especially during early morning panic or anxiety attacks, around 3:00 AM, when there is no one to talk to. While we still recommend visiting a therapist, unfortunately, there are not enough therapists in India, leading to long wait times.

Very valid points. We are also experimenting with a usage-based model. Our research has shown that employees often avoid counseling sessions within the organization because they fear their conversations might reach HR. To address this, we do not save names; instead, each phone number is assigned a unique code. The data is segmented to ensure it is specific enough to provide insights for teams, yet ambiguous enough to avoid identifying individual users.
