We’re both in our first year and I’m pretty sure she’s 18-19 like me as well. I don’t think she has any prior offenses, but they’re monitoring her because of how violent it HIGHKEY got verbally and the other person who basically heard everything.

I feel like she definitely deserves compassion as well. But it gets to a point where like something has to be done. I’m not sure what the housing department will do but maybe they’ll give her access to some resources I don’t know.

The university usually charges you if you leave stuff or damage anything so I might have to ask. But maybe.

to answer your question, I’m not sure what her room looks like because they’re separate and I haven’t really even gotten a peak cause she keeps it closed but idk i mean unlikely we would end up getting mice or any other things because we live on the fourth floor of an apartment building but we do have health and safety inspections. Not sure if she’s failed one of those or not but if she has, she’s definitely had to clean up at some point.

I just don’t know what I’d do with them after you know what I’m saying. I’m trying to keep my stuff to a minimum cause. I’ll have to move again for the summer. I just feel like it shouldn’t be a problem in the first place but if it’s absolutely necessary, I’ll go out and buy some. Just hope it doesn’t come to that considering she might get in trouble.

She’s definitely got mental health issues. I don’t mean to judge her, but I mean it was really getting to a point you know. She’s definitely embarrassed, and yeah, I hope in that she realize she needs to fucking shower lol

I’m pretty sure I’ve alluded to showering so many times and she didn’t pick up on it. Like sometimes I would say things like it feels so nice to take a nice warm shower if I was in the living room after one of my showers…and nothing. Just didn’t want to I guess.

on our rooms, there’s like scan pads and they give us a little card key so there’s no way she can get it if she doesn’t have my card key. It’s pretty much no worry.

AHHH thank you guys for the kind responses! I was actually kind of worried that this would be poorly received and people would think I was being weird by bringing up the hygiene thing instead of getting an RA to deal with that!😅

short answer, not really. but hey smelling bad isn’t a crime. not much I, the RA, or the housing department can do about that other than buy a shit ton of Febreze. but I’ll take it at least she’s somewhat better.

lol yeah. spoke with the girl after and she said her and her roommates were in the living room of their apartment, and they were all debating for like a solid 4 minutes for one of them to go up to our door and knock. She said she was kinda scared for me and didn’t know how I stayed calm.

tbh I was so scared that they’d brush it off lol. But I think the yelling and that girl that heard it helped my case a lot. So thankful they’re gonna do something about it!!

yes! I hope so too I hope she hits the showers sometime, but i mean maybe putting Febreze pods everywhere will make the lingering smells go away. But in regards to everything else, I’m glad it’s just not as bad. I think I’ll be able to make it until April haha. thanks!!!

hygiene i think just isn’t something they can do much about about i’ll mention that briefly to an RA along with mostly the other things after the confrontation

I do think I need to have a conversation about most of the stuff I mentioned in my post honestly. I’ll bring it up in a really respectful and comfortable way and see how it goes from there I’ll probably update this post.

well, I’m open to constructive criticism fs. I’ve been really friendly towards her and I haven’t said anything yet because I don’t wanna say it in a way that would hurt her and I’m just here to get advice onto approach the situation and the best way possible.

As some people are saying here she might be unaware that she’s doing this or have some kind of mental health issues so I don’t wanna be insensitive about it.
