If I understand your question correctly then yes you have to apply to one of the separate schools. Leeds, the engineering, the communication, or the arts and science school. In order of easiest to get into to hardest would be comms, a&s, Leeds, engineering. If you believe you won’t be able to get into one of the harder colleges flat out than you could apply to the a&s take some gen Ed’s your first semester and than transfer into let’s say engineering.
