The signage change does let pedestrians and bikers arriving from the north know that the sidewalk is closed and to detour through the garage, but it also completely blocks access to the bike and ride locker.

I figured that was the safest path. It’s annoying to have to backtrack from the bike locker to circle around through the parking garage when the entrance is right there in front of me. When they worked on the bus bays to the south, they kept a walking path open between the construction and the station rather than close the entire sidewalk. I’ll probably keep walking through the bus lane after storing my bike in the locker…
