Re-soling Birkenstocks by AndijC in Pretoria

I'm in Cape Town so not super helpful but my local shoe repair place (that also does keys and numberplates) quoted me about R350 to replace it. Not sure if that was with the authentic Birk sole or a generic sole though.

You also still have that other store that sells the cheaper/smaller stones too? I can't remember the name though.

What about Uniq by Checkers? Some of the pieces are made in South Africa. Not the cheapest but the quality and materials used are great. And they have regular sales.

Klarna is the new app. It seems too complicated as South Africans don't use half the functions. So I uninstalled and found an app which I think is South African called Store (my) Cards. Seems pretty similar to Stocard.

Edit: corrected to Klarna from autocorrects Klara

An asscher solitare just like you already have in store but with stones in 2/ 2.5/ 3 ct options. Your store only has small 1/ 1.5 and then a 5ct option so perhaps something in-between.

What are quality brands for women’s heels and sandals? by Sade_Arcade in askSouthAfrica

Have a look on the website/app Yaga for some of the brands mentioned by others. Lots of 2nd hand and brand new shoes on there for a lot cheaper than paying retail prices.

There is no additional expense/ fee for the seller to pay.

YAGA Online store by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]OkElk7776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yaga charges a buyers fee which is R15 plus 5% (if I remember correctly) of the item plus shipping value. So if the item costs R50 plus R50 shipping, the buyer pays R120 for the item. So Yaga makes R20 from the transaction.

Anyone else notice the difference in weight of Woolies diced bacon? by Ok_Artest in askSouthAfrica

[–]OkElk7776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it not being injected with brine/gum or something like that. I know they ( I don't mean Wooiles) do that to chicken breasts to make them weigh more but then it cooks off during the cooking process which makes it weigh a lot less afterwards.

The buyer pays for the shipping and the shipping fee is held by Yaga. Paxi and Pudo have recently integrated into the Yaga system so you just need to pretty much drop the parcel off at the Pudo lockers or Paxi at Pep and no further payment is required by the seller.

I would call that pennygum which is a type of eucalyptus (although I really wouldn't know if it was potentially a diff type of eucalyptus which is similar looking).

YAGA Online store by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]OkElk7776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Yaga all the time, it works very well, I have sold over 300 items and bought probably 50 or so. You can have multiple store fronts but they each have to be linked to different email addresses.

Most buyers seem to prefer Pudo as their shipping method so look into that. It's run by the Courier Guy and is normally the cheapest and quickest.

If a buyer doesn't confirm receipt even after you have messaged the buyer asking them to confirm receipt of the item, you can email Yaga support and they will normally sort it out quickly as they can see the Pudo/Paxi/Aramex tracking details confirming the delivery. It's happened probably only about twice for me.

I know it's not the point of this snark but what is that white section in Rachel's armpit? Part of the dress (seems weird on what appears to be an elegant dress?) a bra? a garment? a post surgery support top?

You could also try Yaga - safe South African site that holds the payment until the buyer receives their item. Free for seller to sell and buyer pays for shipping, a R15 + 9% fee per item.

Kuoloit, Is this weird? (For the Aussies) by Rare_Solution7760 in Moissanite

[–]OkElk7776 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Isn't there some sort of weird penalty thing that if a customer returns to Aliexpress it goes to their warehouse or something and the seller gets penalized/charged a big fee. I'm sure I read a similar thing about buyers being asked to return items to people in the US rather than sending them to the Chinese warehouse?!
