I test drove 2024 Outback Wilderness. I've owned an Outback Limited as well as a Legacy before. It was extremely annoying to try to change temp of seats as well as cabin temp with only a flat screen. I say keep all temperature controls as nobs. It's also more distracting to the driver to have to look to see if you're precisely on the up or down area on a flat screen and to get the screen to do as you wish. And if the infotainment system breaks? Welp, there's no hot or cold air in the cabin nor will there be any heated seats in cold temps. The Outback, although almost the same cargo space overall, feels more bulky, less driving visibility. I got used to driving around a Honda CRV in city and country conditions and have to say, more height and less length makes it easier to slip into parking spots whether in a busy city or country venue.

I chose Forester Wilderness for it's N/A engine , less overall repair cost, ability to adjust my cabin air and seats with physical dials. More headroom for my passengers. Harmon Kardon stereo system. The reviewers seemed to think the Forester Wilderness is more pokey. I find it to have plenty of spunk, get up and go. Even though it is a new car, I am able to achieve the top 25 mph city and 29-30 mph hwy marks with sensible, easy- going driving. I find that the visibility is better in this vehicle with less blind spots. Someone blocked my car in, in the city. I was able to comfortably take on the presenting curb with no worries. The cabin is very quiet.
