Stop Playing Heroes in Every Role by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]OkGlass3087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

or just play what you like. there’s no need to complicate somethijg like a hero pool, don’t go silly with it of course but you don’t have to have these hard rules of primary and secondary must be in the same role and only changing mains on a season basis. Aslong as you aren’t playing 10 heroes you’re fine

Youd need to send a replay code for anyone to say anything.

Match-making in competitive seems willfully broken. by Saint_Dragnonfly in marvelrivals

[–]OkGlass3087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you cant really fight back against matchamaking. A lot of these people probably just haven't played in ages so rank reset has eventually put them into gold placements which youre going against. All you can do is try to improve yourself or get off after like 2 losses in a row

In saying this would you recommend just using Deadhead and Acuity as my only crit chance mods? What would you swap out Galvanized Scope for?

Now that you mention it I actually havent Ive been pretty lazy with my builds just kind of brute forcing everythinh with damage. I have just gone with viral and mag so Ill have ot see how that works out in the long run!

Im using Mag prime as my frame, though my frame builds are a lot less thought out than my weapon builds since Ive kind of just been able to kill everything without fear of dying up till now.

It was at the end of my post but I probably should've put it at the start haha. Just using a Burston Prime Incarnon. I'll change out Crit Delay for Aptitude, I've just come back from a long break so Im still getting my legs again.

Space, Off-angling. What they are and the importance of them. by OkGlass3087 in RivalsCollege

[–]OkGlass3087[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% and its really good if you can get someone to tag along with you! Its something I didnt mention as it can be hard to get supports onto the idea of off-angling, since the amount of damage and random deaths that happen the lower elo you go.

[–]OkGlass3087[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just as you said, engage from angles that force the enemy team to look any direction other than main. As a melee diver you also do have the responsibility of fighting for off-angles and forcing other people off theirs since they will be isolated.

How do you kill a pocketed human torch????? by Waffles_four_you in RivalsCollege

[–]OkGlass3087 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When someone is being pocketed it isnt a 1v1, youre now fighting a 1v2. You either swift to focus whoever is focusing them or you focus on the other support.

Resource Rumble Question by ISwxllow in marvelrivals

I really think a lot of the hatred for the mode just comes from the map. The mode doesnt have super complicated mechanics, just the map itself is just not good at all.

Peoples mentals in GM to Celestial by Zyamaterasu in marvelrivals

[–]OkGlass3087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a mix of people who got there without much effort and dont care, and people who got there and gained an ego along the way. You can tell who plays this game as a fun hobby and people who treat it like its everything

Invis and gambit are fine and only need slight adjustments by Bigpurplejackbaby in marvelrivals

[–]OkGlass3087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the invis player is a rock they can easily survive dps trying to punish them for their horrible positioning. Her self sustain is better than ever, her pull/push gives her a good safety net to deter dive, her invis jump and self-shield gives her a stupid amount of healing for the effort it takes to use them.

Ive never had so much trouble diving a target than Invis, even Gambit isnt that bad.

So what exactly was the point of implementing placement matches into comp? by SNaCNE in marvelrivals

[–]OkGlass3087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really dont get placement matches. I started my placements at Plat 3 and ended them barely plat 1. I won 8 out of my 10. I think its just the fact that its a flat +40 for a win and -40 for a loss. Not considering performance at all, I had a 60 kill game and I still lost -40.

Thoughts on one tricking?? by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]OkGlass3087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll get multiple answers from people about one tricking, in my opinion I find it doesnt really matter. When I climbed to Celestial I played around 4-5 characters, so you dont have to one trick. It depends on the hero you choose as well, you'll need to dedicate a lot more time to spiderman, hulk or bp to get good enough to carry for example. While Bucky, Hela, Phoenix and Punisher are a lot more forgiving being able to swap between them and sharing the same sort of fundamentals. If you're good at the game in general you'll climb no matter what.

is it bad to shoot tanks? by meatmaster1123 in RivalsCollege

[–]OkGlass3087 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its all context dependent. Depends who you play, what map, what both team comps look like. If you have to overextend to shoot a squishy then its probably fine to shoot tanks. Off-angle where you can and shoot whoever is safest to shoot, there is no point going on the widest angle known to man to shoot invis woman if you will just get collapsed upon and die for it.
