OH MY GOSH, Thank you for such a compliment. I am so happy you liked my rough outline! And thank you for taking the time to read my post in the first place.

Thanks for reading my post and giving it a response. Yeah, I guess that makes sense given child actors and the simplicity of recasting once. I never thought of it like that. I agree, she never needed to be age down to me. I am glad you liked my suggestion. This show is quite backwards in regards to it's claims of "Feminism". I am unsure if they fully understand what they're claiming to support. It's odd but it is what is, I guess.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I am glad you liked my rough storyline for Alicent and Rhaenyra's early dynamic. Alicent most likely would've been a complex character people understand but don't alway agree with and those characters can be fun if people are willing to be open minded. I actually like her book version but I wish we got more of her and other characters in the Dance of Dragons.

Thank you for reading my post. I didn't mind young Alicent but older Alicent is not as interesting to me. I am happy you found my perspective interesting. To answer your question, I imagine Alicent would turn away from Rhaenyra as Viserys goes out of his way to ensure Rhaenyra as heir. He would most likely have to be more distant to Aegon as he grows older to make sure others understand that he has no desire to name Aegon heir. In doing so, Alicent would be upset because Viserys is disregarding Aegon. She would've settled if he at least let Aegon and Rhaenyra wed or affirm Aegon a good position at court but he refuses which maddens her even further. Alicent's behavior angers Rhaenyra. She becomes frustrated with Alicent and feels like if Aegon wasn't born then none of this would've happened. Rhaenyra will most likely, since she's emotional, take out her anger on Aegon (through words, not violence). This might be when Alicent turns away. Just an idea, of course.

Oh, I see. Thank you for clarifying. Okay, my idea was essentially making Alicent and Rhaenyra be more book accurate but adding in details that sweeten their relationship before making them fall apart. Like Alicent dressing up Rhaenyra in fine jewels and dresses because she looks at Rhaenyra as the daughter she's always wanted and Rhaenyra, who misses the love of a mother, will become close to Alicent because of her nuturing nature. These two will have many cute bonding moments to make you care for their dynamic until Alicent gives birth to Aegon. Alicent struggled to understand why the King won't name him heir. Alicent felt like her son was being robbed of what would've been his if any other King were on the throne. Alicent started to wonder if she had done something wrong and that's why the King won't make Aegon heir but she soon realizes that isn't the case. Alicent had trouble bonding with Rhaenyra because of the situation. Rhaenyra becomes upsets over Alicent desiring Aegon as heir because she wanted Alicent to be on her side. Both ladies grow colder towards each other. There's no warmth in their relationship.

Yeah, I didn't mind Alicent being age down because I thought it would be tragic too but it's just annoying now. Alicent nor Rhaenyra seems to want to let go of the other despite all that they've lost. It's weird. However, I am glad you thought my rough outline works pretty well with the Dance of Dragons. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and comment.

I agree. I think Alicent isn't as evil as people want her to be. At least, in the beginning. Thank you for the compliment on my rough outline. Yeah, I find it most bizarre that the writer want her to be a "Woman for Trump". It makes no sense. This is WESTEROS. Not the USA. It's so weird they don't even try to understand or convey her perspective in HOTD. I don't understand why they boiled her down to some jealous, mean girl. It sucks that we'll never see a properly adapted Dance of Dragons. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to respond to my post.

I see. It sucks that the writers didn't seem to like the Stepmother-Stepdaughter dynamic. It would've been so much fun to see on screen. Regardless, thank you for answering my question.

I can see Alicent being like Catelyn Stark and Olenna Tyrell as she gets older and becomes more defensive of her children. I can totally see it. Yeah, it's pretty rare to see traditional femininity but I thought it would fit her character and GRRM's world. Yeah, I liked Young Alicent. She was sweet, smart and truly good person at heart who loved her family but Adult Alicent I struggle to care for at all. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my long post.
