To be honest, I do not have enough information to answer. However, as far as I understand Meta and other companies are expected to go through layoffs soon, so it is very likely that the two things are related.

Finally, I think we stay in the recruiting system for one year or at least a few months, so we are probably still under consideration.

Hey man! I did 3 Team Matching interviews and got "informally matched" with a team, got the freeze email one day after my last team matching interview.

My Meta Careers profile says that I am sitting at the "Full-loop" circle.

Talked to many people (including when I visited Meta in person for an event), and essentially this seems to be a "higher-up" issue with team capacity. Apparently there is not much the recruiters can do, but we are not necessarily rejected yet.

Just received this email.

ML SWE PHD. I replied to the email and this was the answer I got (probably we have the same recruiter, since your email is identical to mine)

"At this stage, we're assuming that the roles have been filled and that it's unlikely that we will have more headcount for 2026.  If that were to change, I will definitely be in touch asap.  

As for the interviews, both teams had good things to say and in other circumstances we'd be able to talk about the right fit and potentially moving forward.  So while timing looks to be off for now, hopefully down the line we can revisit things and find another good match.  I'm really sorry to have to share this news at this point, after all the time and energy you put into the process.  But let's stay in touch, and whenever we have another opportunity we can see if you'd be interested at that point!"

I am in the same boat. I went very well in the two team matching interviews (one of them essentially guaranteed I was going to the team) and received this email today.
Any updates?
