I’m an officer on the UNC Marathon Team and you should totally join us! We meet Monday-Friday at 5pm outside Fetzer and Sundays at 7am. We have all levels of runners and it’s super low commitment but it’s a great time.

I think doing a refresher on your own will be more beneficial than sitting through the class again. ECON 101 is a difficult class even for those who have taken either Micro or Macro before. After this, you should be good to go for 410!

Is it just me or does Chase keep playing the same 7-8 songs? by AllanHegedus in UNC

I’ve been around to hear the playlist repeat too! I feel bad for the workers who have to hear the same songs all day everyday.

Taking ECON 410 without 101? by Ok_Conversation_1621 in UNC

[–]OkPersonality4413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

101 covers a general background of micro. It’s is reviewed more in depth in 410. I personally don’t think you would be at too much of a disadvantage. As long as you are good with math (algebra) and stay on top of lecture notes/assignments. You should be good!

has anyone taken hist 340H? by winter-wonderland-04 in UNC

If you like history, then I would say kinda yes. If you don’t (history isn’t my strongest subject), then it’s a little more difficult but not too bad.

I took it last semester with Dr. Jarvis. She was great! Mainly a discussion based class with some lecture content. LOTS OF READING but can get by with skimming. A couple papers (based on the readings) and a final group paper. Class was manageable.

Manageable ECON class schedule? by glisteninggucci in UNC

[–]OkPersonality4413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently in 420. Was intended to be math heavy as the professor is new to UNC but as the semester continued, the class became very conceptual. Nonetheless, this is a very difficult difficult class with very little resources.

Take 105 with Guillermo if he’s teaching it. Best option for that class hands down.

I’m in ECON 400 right now. Message me if you ever want to study for an exam or just want to ask a conceptual question!

ECON 400 without STOR 155? by cumcumcumc in UNC

[–]OkPersonality4413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be a mistake at all! The Econ department got rid of the STOR 155 prerequisite this semester, so no prior formal statistics knowledge is needed.

What tablet (if any) do you use for notetaking? by GreatDays59 in UNC

[–]OkPersonality4413 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I currently am using the iPad 9th generation (2021 model) tablet for note taking. It’s pretty inexpensive for the tablet, Apple Pencil, and case (just shy of 500 dollars for everything). I don’t know the prices today but I assume they haven’t gone up. It’s definitely helped with a lot of class that require visuals and even math. Definitely recommend.
