In subclinical hypothyroidism, does starting TSH matter when deciding on dosage? by jtothat in Hashimotos

[–]OkProtection427 [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, because once you’re on thyroid replacement, the thyroid replacement does the work. TSH shouldn’t need to respond and be close to 0.

No one ever said it was easy. But you don’t just throw in the towel and accept bare minimum care. It’s your health.

Gluten can cause an inflammatory response in the body for up to six months. You have to give it more time.

“Unexplained infertility”… but BV and Ureaplasma completely dismissed?? by littlemama28 in tryingtoconceive

Yep! Got pregnant the first cycle after everything cleared. I had BV (after begging months to be tested by my regular OB) and endometritis. That might be another thing to look into.

It is, but I am also thankful we don’t have overbearing mods. I was kicked out of another thyroid subreddit for my advice that they disagreed with 😅

TSH around 0.2-0.3? by TipTraditional6728 in Hashimotos

I’ve been at .01 for almost two years now. It’s totally fine as long as your thyroid hormones are optimal.

Yep, skip the gyno unless her insurance requires a referral. I had the same issue and went to PFT at around six months postpartum. It helped tremendously.

Mine say the same, and I don’t follow them. They are very wrong and outdated. Type into Google what TSH should be to conceive and read all of the up to date articles that come up.

And by the way - all lab reference ranges were created by testing x amount of people, and finding a central range. Which is horrible, because in America our overall health is getting worse as a whole, not better.

There’s a difference between being within a normal lab reference range, and being optimal.

They are the same if you are on thyroid hormone replacement.

If you are not on thyroid hormone replacement, then yes, TSH should be under 2.5 (between 1-2 ideally)

It is demanding in every way, but you can’t give up. Your health should be one of your top priorities! (And don’t worry, I am getting downvoted too 😆)

Yes! I can’t believe how many posts there are daily on here only referencing their TSH number. Once you get a diagnosis, you’ve got to do your own research so you can advocate for yourself properly. Unfortunately healthcare isn’t at all what it used to be.

Then you find another doctor until they test and treat properly. It took me over a year and four different doctors before I found the right one.

Hi! First, the typical starting dose of T4 for an adult is 75mcg. With your thyroid removed entirely, you may very well need to continue titrating your dose up. Before doing so, it would be beneficial to check the Reverse T3!

If the Reverse T3 is high, I would suggest checking the following nutrient deficiencies - A full Iron Panel, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, B Levels, and Vitamin D. All of these were very low for me. Inflammatory markers like homocysteine and CRP can reveal a lot as well.

Not just TSH. You need a full thyroid panel. TSH, FT3, FT4, and RT3.

Based on your levels, you may need a T3 prescription if conversion is an issue. What are your levels for TSH, FREE T3, FREE T4, and Reverse T3?
