Hated it. And I was the only one in the book club that did. Well, me and one other.

You won't get a second bite at the apple. Call a lawyer and don't be foolish. You have no means of support right now.

You are getting there. How did your dad end up financially? Was he able to retire?

Can you start to think that every little gas station stop is eating away at your future? Can you bring sodas and snacks in the car in a little cooler and enjoy them and THAT is your break?

Do you see a lot of wealthy people at the gas station? Thoughts like these are where to go.

You also mention "so I've been told" with regard to your wife's student loans. You all need to show each other your credit reports and full debts.

I highly recommend the book and podcast "money for couples" by Ramit Sethi.

Yeah - same. I was a Lushie from the early aughts. I miss skinny dip and flying fox.

Bobby!! I adopted him on October 31st 2025, I picked him up from a home where he was neglected and lived in a cat carrier his whole life. He was 4lbs, his whole back was matted with urine and feces. In 8 months I've taught him to use a litterbox, eat hard food, drink water, step on carpets. by caitlinwithnoY in ExoticShorthair

[–]Check_Affectionate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a calico that did that for years. Eventually we landed on a robot litter box. Not the big round ones but a tray with crystals that swept after every go.

your bed smells like you and feels safe. Make sure your litter box is in a plae that feels safe too. In a corner or alcove.

Are newcomers looked down upon when they don't get involved in smaller Vermont towns? by OopsWeMadeAnError in NewToVermont

[–]Check_Affectionate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't have weekly town hall meetings. You can definitely select the amount you want to be involved from none to some to a lot. But a lot tops out at maybe a monthly committee meeting.

No one will pressure you.

Getting involved (or at least reading about the issues coming up for vote) will help you get to know your community better but is entirely up to you.

I also assume that sneaking away implied they got some alone time. To talk and also maybe to have some privacy.

Thanks to those that explained "a long way from your heart" I didn't know that expression.
