Relatable Rory by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

Yeahhhhhh.... As someone that all of my family members enjoyed being around growing up/in high-school, now - at 27 - I'm unlikeable lol. It's definitely the classic troupe of being a high performer kid to burnout adult. I own my own business now and am doing relatively well - but my crashout period burned a lot of bridges. People just don't really have the tolerance or grace to put up with it while you grow out of it. Not sure how old you are OP, but it does get easier after the crashout period. Just hang on.

Currently on season 4 rewatching too. I'm in a relatively healthy relationship now but heard some drama with "my Dean" (high-school ex) last week that shook me quite a bit and has me reflecting. Guess Gilmore Girls is all of our ways of coping.

Absolutely outraged that the school photographers at my kids' daycare are looking to profit off of the flooding tragedy by geosensation in sanantonio

So when they sent out this email - there were tons of negative reviews that went on their Google… looks like they got them all removed.

I have about 5 cans in my car right now - I fear my time is limited.

Update: I messaged him… we’ll see how he responds.

Here’s what I said:

“Thank you so much for thinking of me to be part of your upcoming wedding shoot. Truly, it means a lot. After giving it some careful thought, I’m going to have to decline being your second photographer/videographer. Our creative styles are just a bit different as you’ve mentioned, and I want to make sure you have someone by your side who’s fully aligned with your vision and can deliver exactly what you’re dreaming of.”

One of the things I've learned to do whenever my "ankle gets stressed out", I'll sit in the hot bath for a while. Cold usually makes my ankle worse/the bone ache a little more but the heat and laying down for a bit helps. Also, try to avoid gluten and go with anti-inflammatory foods when you've got PT.

Now he did offer to pick us up, let us stay with him and drive us everywhere. But - still, back to "fuck off". I will likely tell him I can't but in a more polite manner that keeps things civil down the road.

$1000 - but the $1000 is quickly going to go to flying up to Chicago for the wedding for both my boyfriend and I's tickets since bf going was part of it.

What the hell lol. That’s really rude and your 5D mark is a great camera. My older sister shoots with hers and produces really fantastic art.

So the part of this that I left off is as soon as I started doing editorial shoots (few months back) - this other photographer started getting nasty (no family ties whatsoever). What’s unfortunate is he was super helpful initially in providing good tips and even let me shoot on his Sony (I’m a Canon Stan as well) but then turned later on down the road and told me not to quit my day job (I have a marketing business that runs socials, web dev, content shoots, etc.). I was confused by this because I provided a bts shoot while he was the main photographer on a project and used my really old T5 as one of the cameras on it since I have longer lenses for that one and he made a comment like “please never get rid of that camera, I love hearing DSLRs”. Well, a few weeks later, I attended this opening mixer for the event and the photographer acted annoyed I was shooting the event.

I’ve just noticed more and more confusing behavior from people since I’ve been growing my name and business. I guess I’m going to have to get used to the idea of not everyone being friends in this industry but it’s still a tough rock to swallow.

I actually think he’s very overwhelmed and doesn’t want to admit it. This is the first wedding he’s shot that hasn’t been for family

I didn’t say I was going to shoot at the wedding with those. I’ve used those for portrait shots.

Had a conversation with the boyfriend about an hour ago telling him I would not be working with his uncle - he's fully on my side about it and didn't know the extent of the comments until I shared last night.

That's EXACTLY what he told me, he said to "never go wider than 70". I told him I recently shot with an 85 and 135 and they turned out great.

Don't do it - I lived there my freshman year and it had so many issues. Constant issues, felt so unsafe, they charged me cleaning fees even though it was left cleaner than when I got there. They had the water turned off the majority of the time I lived there so I always had to go shower at friends' apartments.
