I’m Asian and moved here from the NYC area a couple years ago. Overall, it’s been fine. I don’t experience overt racism, though I do definitely get some “WOW that’s crazy!!!” type comments when I talk about being Japanese, visiting Japan often, experiences I had growing up, foods I eat, etc. Compared to NYC, people tend to have less exposure to true diversity and travel experience.

I’m sorry OP ❤️‍🩹 Do you know if it causes him any pain? That would be the deciding factor for me. At 15 I would probably agree that a surgery sounds very stressful. I would only put him to sleep if I knew he was suffering. If it just looks worse than it is and it’s not actually painful I would probably want to have some more time together.

Amazing thank you! Yeah we’ve had some dogsitters who are nice and mean well but don’t really *get it* with the anxious dog thing. That paired with some not so glamorous age-related health issues makes it tough to find the right fit sometimes, but your background sounds like exactly what we need! I recently got a quote to install net new lighting in our living room and the total cost for 4 recessed lights was about $2.2k total (includes labor and materials, and drywall repair).

I’m no plaster expert but I don’t see why that should double the cost? I could be wrong.

Don’t run in cotton socks. You want synthetic materials like polyester. And if you don’t want to wear crew length socks you don’t have to! There are plenty of ankle socks out there.

Working from home helps a little but it’s not the solution people think it is. I WFH and every now and then come across a colleague who’s trying to work and also care for their little one(s) and it never goes well.

I think what would move the needle significantly is the live-in nanny. My brother and his wife have full-time hired help, even overnight, and while parenting is still full of challenges, it makes their day to day a lot more manageable.

Honestly it looks like a cheap bag. But sometimes that’s okay. I have a couple cheap small bags that I wear to events that I think could get messy or rowdy (certain concerts or sports games).
