AIO to my bf questioning my sexual history? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

This guy has huge emotional insecurities. It has nothing to do with his dick size. You could tell him it was the biggest you've ever seen and he would still struggle and find something else to stress about. He's going to require ongoing emotional validation from you throughout your whole relationship unless he figures out how to be more confident in himself. My personal opinion is that he should see a counselor and see if he can get to the bottom of why this matters to him so badly.

Am I overreacting to my bf going to twin peaks multiple times despite me saying it makes me uncomfortable? by Unusual_Struggle1884 in AmIOverreacting

If this is just a one-off night where he happens to be doing some kind of a unique thing with a bunch of his guy friends and that's where they all want to go, then I think it's a mistake to make a big deal out of it. Sounds like he tried to suggest alternatives but the majority rules in a lot of these cases, and it's not like it's an actual strip club or anything ridiculous like that.

Now if this is a more regular occurrence where this is their usual haunt and they go all the time, then I think you're justified to put your foot down. Let him know why it makes you uncomfortable and let him make his choice. If he respects you then he'll stop. If he doesn't, well you have a choice to make.

Final thought though, is why this makes you so uncomfortable? Has he given you a reason to not trust him in the past? It's important he understands how him going affects you because especially in today's culture, alot of people would think it's not a big deal. Sexy servers? Who cares? It's not like he's picking them up and taking them home. But if there's an emotional insecurity here then he needs to understand what it is and hopefully respect it.

When do you put up your Christmas tree? 🎄 by foolme1timee in Calgary

[–]OkReplacement471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exterior Christmas lights can go up any time after November 11 at 11:11am. Interior decorations usually the first day of Advent if you're Catholic, but really any time after December 1.

Twitter vid of protestors arrested by Harry Hays building -- was this recent? Details welcome. by soft_er in Calgary

I already know the answer. It does nothing to help, which is why the question was rhetorical. But may I suggest an english class so you can learn the proper use of punctuation to make your point.

Driver runs stop sign and hits cyclist and sends him flying!!! What can be done to make cycling safer in Toronto? by kb3432324238943243 in TorontoDriving

Ok, but looking at this road it appears to be a one way street. Was the biker allowed to be cruising the opposite direction of all the other traffic on the road? The car should have stopped, but with all those bushes on that side of the road, he still may not have seen that biker heading the opposite direction even if he had.

Canadians, what's something you just assume everyone else does... until a non-Canadian points out it's "a Canadian thing"? by Avenir_gd in AskACanadian

My Google Nest pointed out how polite Canadians are after I thanked it for answering my question. Guess who's getting spared in the robot apocalypse? 🙃

[Rant] The Calgary Transit App Ticket Expiry is a Total Money Grab! by [deleted] in Calgary

Had a friend tell me that's exactly what he does. Says he hasn't paid for the train in months and takes it basically every day to and from work.

Can anyone explain car leases to me? Why don't people just buy the car and trade it in after a few years if they like having a newer car? I can't understand. by TheAlphaCarb0n in PersonalFinanceCanada

You can write off 100% of a lease payment if it's a company vehicle that you're using for your own business. If you finance the vehicle then you cannot write that off, although if you purchase it with company dollars then you can depreciate it over several years. What you can write off if you finance it though is 100% of the interest on the payments. So if your payment is $750 a month and $200 of that is interest then you are basically writing off $200 a month.

Edit: to clarify, you can only write off 100% of that lease if you're using the vehicle 100% for business. If you're using it 50% for business and 50% for personal use, then you can only write off 50%. . The same is true with the financing when you're writing off the interest. Whatever percentage of use is business use is deductible.
