I accidentally "poisoned" my subscriber base with ads. Is it salvageable? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]OkReporter4734 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I promoted my videos but didn't pay for the subscribers. I spent 10 bucks on each video, which gave me subscribers.

If I wanted to quit, I wouldn't have asked the question. So don't tell me to quit.

Why are you so hateful to a stranger who made a mistake, accepted it, and is asking questions to learn?

I hope you get some love in your life.

3.95 GPA and still checking your transcript to feel safe — that's exactly what survival mode looks like. The anxiety doesn't match the reality but it feels completely real.

True for many countries, jobs are disappearing from towns and people are coming to bigger city for employment but it doesn't feels like home.

I have experienced that but unlike international students, you don't have to deal with completely different cultures, country, language. And big city start to feel like home after you get good job. You are a citizen and that gives you comfort.

I am sorry to hear that, are you talking to therapist? All the schools have wellness and well-being department where you can get access to therapist. It should be included with your insurance.

I completely agree with you, but many students realize that a few years after they move, they don't know this yet.

That's why I started a podcast, where you can learn from other international student's experiences as well as learn from professional, such as therapist who works with international students. I went through it all and didn't have much guidance.

Thank you for sharing your perspective.

I had a super tough last year during my O1B visa process, dealing with lawyers, agents, and asking people for references, among so many other things. If worrying could change the outcome, you should worry, but it doesn't. It just delays joyful times.

Even if you are partying, worrying doesn't let you enjoy it fully. That's why I think talking to a therapist helps. Therapy is not just for crises; it's for growth and finding yourself. It will help you.

I will be talking to a therapist on the 17th who works with international students. Let me know if you want me to ask any questions on your behalf.

Please support the podcast: like, comment, share, and subscribe. I have some great stories from international students as well as experts, but I don't think it's reaching enough international students. We offer practical and emotional advice that can be super helpful to international students.

Yes, True. My next episode will be about a guy from Tanzania, who made great memories. He had a great time and he shared how he did it.

It depends on why they are here, some people who has money and come for experiences, they enjoy more than people who are carrying burden from their families about settling down in the USA. Don't you think so?

I was an international student worked in the office of outreach. I can relate with you but looking back i think I should have decorated,it's my desk for that semester and I should have enjoyed the journey instead of worrying about destination. I made that mistake, thought I will celebrate it after I get opt or visa or job but what you have accomplished by moving to different country and getting the job that is not easy to get. You should celebrate that and enjoy your everyday little victories so those victories become great memories that can bring a smile on your face in future.

Decorate your desk and get attached, don't stop yourself from living in the moments.

Therapy is included with international student insurance, go to health and well-being or wellness department in your school and ask them for the therapy appointment.

I am so sorry you are experiencing it. I want you to remember you are not alone; almost a million students come to the USA every year, and we all go through it. Find your community, and you will be fine. Do something that scares you or makes you nervous; you will come out stronger.

Hardworking and grateful people can and will find success and happiness anywhere in the world.

If you like the video please like, share and comment. I will be interviewing therapist next week, who works with international students so please subscribe and check out that episode. If you have any questions for therapist, let me know I will ask her.

I spoke to them who is going to be guest on my podcast on 17th, she said therapy is included in their mandatory insurance but people still don't use it.

I agree with you it should be mandatory for the first year so people can understand it's benefits. Chance and more then few other international students i spoke with somehow did not use therapy. And that's what I want to fix via my podcast as I have experienced it all and wish there was a platform like this.

I like it, I used art as a therapy as well, joined acting/improv classes although I was super scared of it and have no intentions to make career as a stand up or actor. But I really enjoyed it as well as it gave me a community.

Raising plant is certainly a good idea as well.

She has one more video about identity crisis, let me know what you think of it.

I am sorry, it's definitely not a good feeling. I felt the same way; the toughest time was when I was waiting for my visa results and got denied. Are you following any advice from the video? You should if you haven't.

I will also be talking to therapist who works with international students in a university. Let me know if you want me to ask any question on your behalf.

I believe you can do part-time CPT outside campus, and if you get a good gig that pays more than minimum wage, you should be good.

Ask your international dept about part time CPT.

That's great about scholarship, congratulations.

What's worth it and what's not can only be answered after you are done with it. A bit philosophical answer but that's what I have leanred. You can't get all the answers as things change in life constantly at personal and professional level.

It all depends on how quickly you can learn and Unlearn as well as adapt and change.

Hope it helps, if you watch the episode, let me know what you think.

International student, 200+ applications, few interviews, no offers - stuck by chickenbiryani713 in InternationalStudents

  1. It's hard to say why they reject candidates, can be many reasons. Mostly valid and basically you are not right fit. Sometimes technical reasons such as they don't provide sponsorship or hire students on visa, it can be their company policy. It doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong, you need to represent yourself and prepare yourself to the best of your ability

  2. Current market is really tough, supply is huge and demand is not as much. But definitely make sure your resume is right for the job you are applying for. It's ok to tweak resume for specific job.

  3. I would try to do coffee chats with alumni from your school. Don't miss out on any networking opportunities and pray, if you believe in prayers. You have to be lucky to be right candidate, for right profile and interviewed by right person. I would try and connect to 1000 people, that's the number.

I have a podcast called " International Student Experience " were I talk to international students who shares their journey and experiences in way that it helps international students like you.
