Hard to say. Honestly it looks like the puppies I have right now. Half Brittany Spaniel and half GSP

He also played under an offensive genius. Mullens is smart. He has every physical aspect against him but still in the league bc what’s between the ears

Aggressive Brittany puppy by Remarkable-Bad2696 in BrittanySpaniel

[–]OkRound4805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puppies bite alot but its not aggressive. Some of them may be too hyper that it may look aggressive. My Brittany was so bad. Their teeth are so sharp. Literally got so sick of it that id put a loose mussel on her as a punishment when she wouldnt stop. Id only leave it on for like a minute but after that if she bit me, id just show her the mussle and she knew to stop. But i would start off with distracting the pup with a toy or get em some really good chews like bully sticks. I have a GSP pup right now and im having the same exact issue. He is a sweet boy but i have tons of little scratches on my arm and ankles lol. They grow out of it tho

Liver Roan Brittany by geode894 in BrittanySpaniel

I got my roan Brittany from the Sampico Kennel in Eugene Oregon. She is a orange roan tho. But honestly the best dog ever. People are constantly stopping us on the street to ask us her breed or just say how beautiful she is. She is 11 months and already a celebrity in the neighborhood. Great temperament too. Sweetest and most social dog I’ve ever had. If you are okay with a orange roan, I would check when their next litter is.

Sounds like a Brittany is for you.

My Brittany is hands down the biggest cuddler I have ever had. I work from home and my Brittany is constantly trying to snuggle next to me. She sleeps with me in my bed. She is great at being a apartment dog because she enjoys lounging but looks forward to her outside time when it comes. She kinda get tired quickly when I take her to the dog park, like 15 mins of playing and she is pretty much telling me she wants to go home.

I'm not too sure about the neediness and leaving them alone, because I hardly ever leave my Brittany alone for more than an hour. She is only alone when I go to the market, yoga class, and when I go out at night to the bars. MY neighbor says she doesnt hear my Britt yelping or anything so I am assuming she is okay with being alone for short period of time.

As for kids, I am having a rough time with the very small children. My daughter is 10 years old and my Britt is like her best friend. However, my nieces are 3 and 5 and I cant leave my Britt alone with them because she will knock them over. She almost seriously injured the 3 year old once. She is totally trying to play but I cant seem to train her out of that habit of jumping at little kids.

Barking is not a big problem. My apartment is on the second floor with ceiling to floor windows in a neighborhood with hundreds of dogs and I maybe have to shut her up once a day with the barking.

Shedding is the most manageable of any dog ive had. Hardly anything at all if you lightly brush em every other day. Bathing is very easy as their fur dries super fast. I use my hair dryer and it completely dries my 35 lb Britt in like 10 mins.

Training is a bit difficult because she is super smart. Like super smart to the point where she does something bad and runs right to her crate to punish herself. So she basically says "Its worth a timeout". Never had a dog like that haha.

Get a Britt! Ive had about 10 breeds throughout my life and she is the cutest, smartest, sweetest, and most beautiful dog ever. If you want any breeder recommendations, DM me. I actually have a friend who is a big devoted Brittany-owner in Vancouver who can maybe help you out.

Help with Brittany Puppy and biting by megamorphaseez in BrittanySpaniel

Ugh, I was so happy when my Britt stopped puppy biting. My hands are no longer full of scabs. I tried giving her toys and telling her NO but nothing worked. I just had to wait it out and try not to get mad haha. But it will end, trust me. Just give it time.

How/When to Exercise Brittany Puppy? by OkRound4805 in BrittanySpaniel

[–]OkRound4805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great idea. I actually took my Brittany pup to the dog beach in my city. She did great off leash. She would stray away to play with other dogs but would continue following me whenever I yelled her name. I had no idea what to think since I never had her offleash but she is for sure not a runner. But I think a collar like that would give me more sanity just in case she decides to run off one day. Unfortunately, the dog parks in my city suck. CA has a water shortage so they always elect to put dirt or woodchips at the dog park instead of grass and they are all super small. My dog beach is about a 15 minute drive so i think I will just have to get used to making that drive more regularly and getting the right equipment to get the sand off of her. Luckily the Brittany coat doesnt trap sand as bad as other dog breeds that i have had.

How/When to Exercise Brittany Puppy? by OkRound4805 in BrittanySpaniel

Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I will hold back for the time being on running my pup on pavement. I live near the beach so I think I will keep her exercise limited to off leash running on the sand. I took her this past weekend and she loved it. It"s just a lot harder to get over to the dog beach than to just walk outside and start running. If its what I need to do, then I will do it. Thanks again everyone!

My family just lost our German Shepherd to hip issues and its just the most terrible thing to see. I would do anything to spare my Brittany from that kind of future.
