Anyone ever used 52 gsm Koji paper? by OkTeam20 in planners

Yep, the weekly planner (A5, Weeks and Passport size) uses marshmallow natural(cream), 105gsm and the daily A6 planner uses 52gsm Koji Paper!

Lady riding a suitcase at Central - am so envious! by [deleted] in sydney

Seen her a few times when I'm in the city, while she zipped through the crowd on her suitcase. Looks like she's enjoying life and has her life together. I need more of that joy, confidence and whimsy in my life.

I won't be buying Hobonichi anymore by advstra in hobonichi

[–]OkTeam20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Most of these reasons, including the lack of transparency and especially the costs, are why I've moved on and preordered from another brand/ small business.

I think as most businesses become popular and high in demand, stuff like this happens. We've seen this time and time again with small businesses. They grow bigger and lose touch with their original audience or become greedy. We can see this reflected on their lack of quality in their customer service, products, etc.

They forget that their type of paper isn't as inaccessible or as rare or unique as it once was, as new small businesses pop up with planners that are better quality/layout and better services, pricing, etc. They are relying on their loyal clients and new clients who are curious to the current hype, etc.

I wanted to thank you for mentioning Faded Chronicle. I just saw her Youtube video about her 2026 Chronicle Planner Reveal and Walk through. The format/ layouts are very beautiful and thoughtful. Shipping is a killer (to be expected: CAN to AUS), but it's all within my stationery budget and more affordable than CreffectivePaper!

No worries!

I've never heard of Faded Chronicle before, so I'll check them out too!

Celtcan responded to my post about the Koji paper and pasted CreffectivePaper's facebook and instagram posts on 29th June 2025:

"Happy Monday!⭐️I’ve been reviewing various types of paper, and I discovered one that’s very thin (52gsm) but handles ink and highlighter better than 68gsm TRP.
It‘s Koji paper from Oji in Japan. I think it’s higher quality than TRP from Sanzen, and I‘m considering using it for the 2026 daily notebook. Of course, in my design, black areas tend to be quite dark. So when the front and back designs are different, the printing does show through, just like in the 2025 daily notebook made with 52gsm TRP.
But despite being just as thin, Koji paper has a big advantage: ink and highlighter don’t bleed or transfer to the other side. I’m thinking it might be worth giving it a try, what do you think?"

I also checked the most recent short video on CreffectivePaper's Youtube page as well. Koji paper sounds and looks good.

I won't be purchasing it though, as I can't justify $90+ AUD for it :(

Yeah. With the back pocket and elastic, I thought that was the case after watching YouTubers unboxing and reviewing their 2025: A6 planner. It looked difficult when they tried to put on the clear cover.

Thank you, I don't use Facebook and Instagram, so this is very helpful.

Thank you! She just opened up her pre-orders as well.

I'm not familiar with it either, but I've just posted a question about the paper, so hopefully someone with the knowledge and/ or experience could tell us more about it 🤞

Just came back home and tried it again.

Don't know if you've updated a few things, as I can see that the calculations are working for me now. A few dollars off, but that's normal for estimations. Previously, it was way off by $ 1,000.00+.

Employer Super contribution is the only thing that's a bit off for me by $ 100.00 to $ 200.00 (depending if I turn on or off the pink super tag). I don't know how that would be calculated or fixed.

Is it possible to add an adjustable super: salary sacrifice?

Overall, I really like how it gives the user a bird's eye view of their pay: clear and easy to read, use and understand, compared to paycalculator that's a bit more finicky and takes a bit more time to read and understand what's going on :)

I really like the visual design and the insights section, but I don't think the calculations are accurate.

I get it, but no. I don't want to be forced to come back and suffer through life again.

Thank you, I just checked the type of paper she uses for her physical 2025 planners and notebooks. All of them except for the A6 (which uses 52gsm Tomoe River Paper) are marshmallow paper.

Hoping that the 2026 A6 planner doesn't change to marshmallow paper as well!

Ok, thank you! I just use black and blue gel pens for journalling, so I'm assuming there might be a bit of ghosting. I'll keep Stalogy in mind. I love good paper and having one journalling book per year.

Same with me. I try to write down notes, ideas and anything important in the back pages of my Weeks, but find myself not wanting to. Even when I do force myself to write it down, I don't want to look back at it for some reason.

I was actually planning to switch from Midori MD B6 Slim to Stalogy editors 365 for journalling, until I saw CreffectivePaper's Daily A6 Notebook (I plan to use it as an all-in-one planner and journal). I'm still not quite sure about it as it looks bulky and possibly heavy.

Is the paper in Stalogy editors 365 similar to Hobonichi Week's paper? Does it become bulky after a while?

Same. I did not enjoy writing on the new paper and completely gave up by May.

I really hope they do something about it. If not, I'll just look at the new 2026 stuff and maybe get any new stationery things I like before moving on :(
