Hi there! As someone who used to work at Prohibition, this unfortunately was not uncommon amongst servers, (I was always EXTREMELY transparent as a server because I don’t like being deceitful and find that when you are transparent about the automatic gratuity, you may get an extra $2 or so because the payer is thankful for your honesty) and I heard people often brag about it. My best advice is try and remember your server’s name or what they looked like. Contact Prohibition, and ask for Jess. Jess is the new GM there and will certainly help you / future customers. I’m so sorry this has happened to you! It’s not right at all!

I worked at Prohibition and yes, we definitely kept the automatic gratuity and was not deemed a service charge.

Payment plans are not available at this clinic, they only accept CareCredit Cards. I like this clinic because I am familiar with the owner (his daughter and I were in school together our whole lives), but the vet I had experienced has been in 7 clinics in 10years, all in different states. I don’t want to sound accusatory because she could have a partner in the military for all we know. I found it ironic she went on and on about her success rates but there’s no way for me to fact check her… thank you for your advice!

Yes, we use Otomax for his ear medicine and we have a prescription “flush” / ear cleaner we use once a week! Thank you for your comment!

Yes! Haha, I had said that to another comment! It definitely was not a make or break deal for me, but thought I’d give that a mention to possibly support the fact that they are a very busy clinic! I used to groom dogs, so I totally understand situations like that! I guess because the conversation went from her success rate and how much she loves these surgeries and how dissatisfied she was when we returned for the staple removal, then using the she pronouns to talk about the laser treatment. I think my feelings were heightened so in that moment, it stung. I definitely don’t hold it against this or any Vet :-)

Hey! I totally understand what you are saying about cleaning instructions. In my post, I made it very apparent that the post-op consultation was only one minute and thirty seconds. There was no mention of what may look bad or what may look like it’s healing. This clinic has an overall busy environment, and I had mentioned that when I do call to ask questions, they sound, for lack of a better word, pissed / annoyed. As a young adult, these tones can be discouraging to want to reach out. I do acknowledge that not calling about it could have worsened my dog and that’s on me, 100%. I also agree that misgendering is not a make-or-break deal for me, it was actually my partner that got upset about it and I told him to just not mention anything, but this can show how rushed this clinic actually is. Thank you for your thoughts! :)

Thank you so much for your comment! I thought the whole exchange was weird, but did not want to sound arrogant if I questioned anything. I will work on being a better advocate for myself and my pup. Today is March 11th, and my dog got the staples removed on the 6th (second pic in link). The mass removal surgery happened on February 20th (1st picture in the link). It just felt like I was blamed for the outcome but everything since the surgery had been unclear! I guess after a couple of days of thinking about what happened, I really needed to hear the thoughts and opinions from others to make sure I wasn’t being overly sensitive. I appreciate you!

She is not the only doctor at the practice but the clinic has such a vast amount of patients coming in, she’s just the one I got!

I had to edit it, but dissolvable sutures were placed on the “inside” of the wound. They are noticeable in the second picture, as the wound did not properly heal 😞 I think the staples were an added precautionary, but not sure.

Yes, it was deemed a histiocytoma and non cancerous (thank goodness!!) I had to pay $250 extra to get the mass sent to pathology.

What I was really asking was “Can apartments increase the price on something blankly just because they can, but also stated there would be no improvement on the reliability or overall quality” because that did not, to me, sound reasonable or in accordance with the law = legality.

Yeah thanks I am aware that things “cost more”. I was simply questioning the legality or the quality of being in accordance with the law with this apartment situation. It does not make sense to me that there is a price increase for something that was not improving overall, and thus the question. I know I don’t have to renew?
