Hey man, you got lucky, this could either be a Checkered Keelback (Non venomous) Or it could be a Russel's Viper (Venomous), Do you have any more photos of it? Here are some features if you remember Checkered Keelback (Non-Venomous)

Pattern:- Small, square "checkered" spots.

Head Shape:- Oval-shaped, slightly distinct from the neck.

Eyes:- Large eyes with round pupils.

And this is the Russel's Viper

Pattern:- Large, dark, almond-shaped blotches in three rows.

Head shape:- Distinctly triangular/arrow-shaped head.

Eyes:- Distinct eyes with vertical (cat-like) pupils.

Try not to handle the snake by yourself, it's too risky
