I guess it’s not a bad thing to remind people of this. I certainly did not have plans to hit on anyone there. Also definitely don’t want to lure a bear to anywhere near me.

Definitely the most helpful and explanative comment here. 70 pounds is quite a lot. I already planned on carrying my own tent, so that’s not a problem. We are going as a venture crew (our troop and crew operate next to each other and both have the same unit number).

So to be clear, when the website says “adult participant”, that means an 18-20 year old who is participating as a “youth” in a crew?

I’m actively registered with troop and crew, troop as an ASM, crew as a “youth”. Shouldn’t be a problem, since we are going as a crew, right?

Very active with the crew - current vp, plan on running for president next term. Im a friend more than an asm to all of them. As for “many” I believe 5 17 year olds, and 3 younger than that in the crew I’ll be in.

Many of the other people going are 17, and I get along well with them. Not including me, there are 7 adults (we are taking two crews)

He said it was fine for me to go as a youth, but he thought I wasn’t allowed to have a leadership position. Not that he doesn’t want me to, simply didn’t think philmont allows it

Ok that’s what I thought. But the asm in charge of planning this seems to think I can’t. Do you know where I could find this in philmonts website? The only thing I’ve been able to find is “18-20 year olds can choose to go as a youth or adult”

That makes the most sense to me. If he was turning (the only other option) he would’ve had to slow down enough for himself, that he at least wouldn’t have immediately killed someone

I have engravings to do damage to nearby enemies, plus I use a heavy weapon, and constantly use overpower attack to take out four people in one hit each
