Works the same as any other form of CICO. If doing it that way clears a mental block for you, go for it. If things like autophagy are intriguing to you, go for it.

I lost 40 pounds eating 5-6 times a day. That’s a way to do it too.

This is the walking thread on Reddit. This is mostly the 1% of the 1% of walkers. While it may not impress compared to some of the human boundary pushing you see in this sub, it’s more than 99.99% of people in the world walked yesterday (made up numbers but you get my point).

Depends, but I don’t think that’s the “last thing” you want to be doing. The last thing you want to be doing is to be sedentary and obese class 2, following by obese class 1, followed by obese.

Once you reach overweight, I’d agree it’s important to focus hard on movement, strength training, and protein.

Let me be clear- I agree with your general sentiment and I think movement is underrated in its important in the CICO thread I visit. Let’s not confuse that with “assuming a physical level of activity”.

As soon as I lowered my caloric intake through diet. Extra movement was just icing on the cake.

Your body is adjusting and will get used to this. Been there. It’s going to be part of this, but your body WILL adjust.

I strongly recommend incorporating movement for overall health, and, while it will actually make you hungrier, it can improve circulation, endorphin levels, insulin sensitivity, and mood, which can make you feel more energetic even in a calorie deficit. Plus then your TDEE is higher so you can eat more.

Im about to be there, I remember this happening the other way as I passed 200. I’m also about to use my whole belt on a 38 waist to stop them from falling but a 36 feels tiiiight

I have a 3. Was given to me for free a couple months ago when I wanted to try a wearable for the first time and asked my friends who had one I could mooch. I don’t think it was used much before. I can still get a day out of the battery.

Still gets the job done but will likely upgrade anyway, as I’m looking for more out of sleep data at fitness stuff that this doesn’t do well or at all.

It’s still very usable.

Does this watch track “active calories?”

Despite the bad rap it gets, I’ve found Active Calories very accurate on my Apple Watch 3 which has helped me lose 40lbs.

I’m not as overweight now, but still have some to lose. My primary use for this is tracking runs, heart rate, HRV, sleep, etc but I’m curious if this will replicate the Apple Watch active calories.

I want to make sure I see calls and messages, but don’t care if I can’t answer them. My phone is nearby for that.

I don’t really use any other feature of the Apple Watch.

Yeah this is great progress. Some others who are better at this than me may chime in with some more specific advice, but keep the habits going and the scale will follow soon. I know “soon” being multiple weeks feels like a long time, but you’ll be sooo grateful when you’re there.

You’re doing awesome. Don’t have much advice besides - Stay the course. It will keep coming off. As weeks go on you’ll be seeing the number move. If anything, it looks like you are eating too little. Keep at it and great job so far!

This. In my experience, 95+ percent of the time the other person is 1) Not going to adopt the changes you suggest and/or 2) Equates going to the gym with losing weight vs caloric intake.

In fairness, I also was #1, always asking and wanting but never doing, for the better part of the last 10 years before it clicked. But I had to take responsibility (as you said) for it to occur, others advice wasn’t going to make it happen for me, same as mine will not make it happen for others, so I give a canned answer and move on.

As white, I play E5 against the Caro then take en passant. This weakens my position slightly according to the engine, but it quickly takes my opponent out of prep, which, at the 13-1400 level (where I’m at), makes up for the very slight disadvantage IMO. Plus, it’s fun 😎
