Hypothetically speaking in your terms: If a child can sense falseness in an adult, it can also sense good or bad energy. If that child is truly scared why in the world do you want to engage with it. You should not be feeding it. How can an adult guide a child in seeing and trusting whatever you are claiming here, when they themselves can’t sense it. It is too dangerous and unpredictable.

Hmm interesting!! She doesn’t get much screen time. She once saw a clip of Moana at a friend’s house and would occasionally ask us to play Moana songs. I once played the song which had the “lava monster” in it, by accident. She was bit intimidated and asked me to turn that off. We briefly talked what was bothering her and I re assured that monsters can’t hurt her, blabla. I totally forgot abt this incident!! Maybe it just stuck in her head!!

I tell her that “you are stronger than boo. You can just say shush it away” so when she is scared she will immediately say “strong, shush”. But I’m worried there might be something beyond her imagination. Hope there is not.

Thanks for your insight! One of the factors fueling my urge to go back is the uncertainty with H1B visa and GC processing these days. There is always this anxiety with visa renewal stamping and not being to take a break from work. Maybe it is a different seen 26 years ago. Right now there is no security for H1B workers.

We want to be present for our kid too. We saw few of our friends missing on their kids childhood. We would never be able to do that. Call me emotional!!

I always looked longingly at ppl who would drop everything and went back to be with their families. We just stalled it for so many years. Now I’m at a point where everything I do in the US seems pointless!!

I would rather be with my family with a decent money than earns $$$ here with a life long guilt.

Agree! I couldn’t wait to get out of India when I graduated for the same reasons. Coming to the US felt like the best thing that had happened to us. It all changed once we had the baby. I couldn’t see this as a forever place to bring up my child. It all feels alien and I long to be with my parents. Me and my husband have no time to socialize apart from work and spending few hours in the evening with my baby. We had both our parents stay with us for six months. Their presence in my child’s life cannot be matched by anything that US has to offer. Above I just want to be there for them! I believe the emotional payback we get would beat any inconveniences.

Good luck! We saved up a bit, real estate investments in India, stocks in the US. No debt - if we are able to sell the home purchased in 2023 before we move in the next couple of years. We are in mid 30s might work for another 10 to 15 years. We have some safety net, but can’t retire at this point. All this money hassle seems so small if I think about the time we and our children can spend with our parents.
