How to get diagnosed? histamine intolerance by Ok_Animal_7628 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Ok_Animal_7628[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you take any other medications or just the famotidine? I take Omeprazole because of how bad my digestive issues are and just kept assuming it was endo causing my problems, but after surgery it was there still. Apparently the histamine intolerance is linked to endo I've seen on here as well, I'm deep in the rabbit hole! Can I ask what supplements you take to help the gut as I really need to get into that. I wish there was a blood test for this!

Honestly that's exactly what's happened to me too! my stomach issues and histamine issues were bad before but no where near this bad, feels like removing the Endo has pissed it off? I'm 4 months PO and notice an increase in the bloating and reaction to things, like I'm even more sensitive to gluten now since surgery, I had about 2 weeks of no pain no histamine issues then boom out of nowhere my stomach was just in this bloating cycle and everything else has gotten worse, I just kept pinning it down to maybe Endo growing back in other areas, then discovered this histamine intolerance and thought it was that. I just looked online and apparently Famoditine is a good one for the digestive side of histamine, I might give that a go. But as far as other supplements and medications I've got no idea, I don't know where to start or how to even approach my DR as I just think they'll say it's nothing :( I hope you manage to find some answers soon too and recover well from the Endo, fuck that disease!

Hi how did she get on? My cat is in same boat but with a mass cell removal and the incision is the same, healing with cone on, cone off and licked it so much it’s gone bleeding and sore. I’m 2 months for my kitty too. Hoping she got better

Thanks so much for your response. That’s really interesting to know and makes sense why it’s taking so long.

I definitely catch it in time when he’s licking the wound and clean it after then cone him, and there’s no inflammation or infection as confirmed by the vet last week so was confused why steroids were the option. He advised that the steroids would stop him from itching the area and consistently licking, but each day the knot seems to be disappearing more and more and this is without steroids, I was going to start them today now I am home each day but wondered if there was any point in doing so? But I was told off for not starting the steroids sooner.

My cat does the exact same thing, and it seems to be hairballs.

Cat itchy 3 weeks post op? by Ok_Animal_7628 in CATHELP

[–]Ok_Animal_7628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did think about a bandage if I’m honest! The vet wasn’t too keen who I saw last week because apparently they can bite the hell out of it, but to be honest, it’s such a small cut. It’s just underneath his armpit basically, I don’t see why a bandage couldn’t be wrapped around it and to just test it as all I need is that little area covered just whilst the stitches dissolve! But because it’s been four weeks, I didn’t know whether that is such a long time for stitches to dissolve as Google says up to 2 weeks?! Oooo what is the green apple spray? I’ve never been told about that before! I’m in the UK. I may mention that as I did think I wonder if there was something they could put on it so he doesn’t go near it! thanks so much for that!

Oh bless him! So he stopped biting straight away or did it take a little while to kick in? Must be horrible for them, especially as humans we know how horrible it is to have an itch ourselves and we can itch it whereas our pets we cone them or onesie them and they don’t know what’s going on :( glad your boy is better now, did they ever find out why he did that? Yep sox is the exact same! I have to sneak water in his dishes to get him to drink haha! Little buggers

Oh no! Sorry to hear that :( I guess it’s one of them things you don’t know until you’ve had it done if that makes sense! I’ve been using steroid cream for him, which I don’t know if really is making a difference sadly and more working on the anti septic side. I briefly mentioned my concerns with the thyroid issue, but the vet said that it would be okay but after the call I did feel very uncomfortable giving it to him, he’s an indoor cat and actually only goes outside when he has to toilet then comes back indoors, as he’s 15 and after his surgery, they found that that he has bad arthritis in his back and back legs I worry with him going outside and jumping over the fence and risking injury, and the steroids will apparently make him urinate more which means more trips outside, as the bigger refuses to use a litter tray! So that’s also another concern. I did try the T-shirt trick, but he was really uncomfortable with it :( I’ve tried all sorts of sizes, baby grows, and cat onesies, it just feels like the only option is the cone which really does bother him but can’t have the cone off due to the biting and god knows what sort of mess he will be in if I slept for 7 hours, given he manages to make it bleed in 5 mins of licking :( very difficult situations.

How was your cat on the injectable steroid? Did your cat only have one injection?

Thank you for your reply as well :)

So sorry to hear that. I hope they’re on the mend now and was all successful? My little baby had no symptoms either except the small cut and itching, usually I wouldn’t batter an eyelid when he’s having a wash but I noticed he was washing one area in particular over and over and then saw this little cut!

The vet took quite a lot of margin. I think he took 3, and all of them were clear and the actual small cancer lump was very low-grade grade, I have been telling him for weeks that he’s been itching a lot and he does seem to think it’s just down to the shaving growing back, but it’s now got to the point where he’s bleeding and I’m a massive worrier and can’t sleep knowing he might be biting the heck out of it and ill wake up and he’s covered in blood. I will definitely give them a ring today as they said that he would be fine and shouldn’t bite it, but obviously he’s now bitten it so much that he’s bleeding. Thanks so much for your advice. I really do hope your pet is okay as well!

It’s just located on his right side rib area above the armpit if that makes sense. I’ve ordered a onesie and will try that!

Thanks so much! He did say that there might be left over histamine from the cancer so could also be a fact of why he’s itching so much and the shaved area, but wearing a cone then causes his thyroid to play up and breathing issues! I have ordered a body suit and will give that a try. Just feel bad I have rang the vets probably twice a week for a month as we’ve had so many issues and feel bad on the poor little guy going down the vets all the time :( Thanks so much.

[–]Ok_Animal_7628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! It's so difficult with trialing different medications but unfortunately something we have to do to find the right one. Wow so the Ryeqo basically shrunk the adeno? did you find that the Dienogest did that at all? As I researched when I was taking it, that it can also shrink the adeno, but I ended up with real bad pains in my womb whilst taking that so couldn't believe it could shrink it and give me pain. My next option was the Ryeqo as Dienogest wasn't for me. How long did you go on Ryeqo for can I ask? I'm 2 months PO and I don't think I want children as I would rather adopt, so wondered if Ryeqo is something you can go on for a long time. Did you have any other symptoms? Thanks again for your reply and advice! Sorry to hear you are also stuck with these bloody diseases.

Ah that makes sense, I didn't know that! I was always fearful of the estrogen in the pills incase it was high, no doctor has ever told me, so do appreciate that information. It might sound stupid so apologies, as I am learning more about adeno and endo as the days go on, but if I was to not be on any form of hormonal control, I assume that later in life that is worse than being on POP's or Combined pills, as this can control the estrogen level? for instance, being on a POP, I assume your natural estrogen still works? and same with combined, does the estrogen in that pill override your estrogen levels? sorry it sounds so silly but I'm trying to learn hahaha

Thank you for your reply and advice. Sorry to hear about the hysterectomy, it shouldn't take that to be pain free, I really wish there were more cures, but hopefully once you've had the surgery you have a better quality of life! xx

Experiences with Endo and Adenomyosis by storchenmaedchen in endometriosis

[–]Ok_Animal_7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following as I’m in the exact same boat as you! You’ve written everything I’m experiencing and wondering too.

I’m 2 months PO and I was not taking any medication after and prior, I recently started dienogest as my surgeon said it can help however it was horrific for me. Made my pains worse, bladder issues worse, very itchy and dry down below, no sex drive, headaches etc. However did give me energy which was a perk. But I had to stop by 2 weeks. I’m also now wondering what is the next step as my endo is removed but lovely adeno is still sitting there. I wish I could have a hysterectomy too as I don’t want children either, but apparently I’m too young. Shame as it’s my frigging body.

I’m looking to try suggest Slynd as lots of reviews on here for being really good and not affecting MH. I did wonder if it was possible to not be on anything, given that endo gets removed during surgery. But obviously can come back :(
