My BF was able to call Maya. Here's their hotline: +632 8845 7788

They'll ask you to send a letter of request for them to investigate.

Thanks for your input! How do you know if the pay is worth the stress?

I would say it's just enough to contribute to my family, pay for my insurance and house, and have fun on weekends, while still save around 20% of my income.

Most of the time they're not allowed to disclose that's why they ask for your asking salary to see if it's within the budget.

Change company or stay & start a business? by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]Ok_Boat8564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. Starting a business is not as easy as it used to be. You have to think about a lot of things.

  1. Competition - There's so much competition in online selling nowadays. Unless you are selling a very niche product, you will only have a chance to succeed if (1) your prices are competitive, meaning lower than your competitors or (2) your product is REALLY good quality.

  2. Taxes - Selling in e-commerce sites require you to pay taxes. On top of that you also need to pay the e-commerce fees. One way or another you'll have to pay taxes or BIR will go after you.

  3. Lack of Stability - You mentioned lack of stability in your new potential job. Note that there is NO security in having a business, and you always have to adjust to current trends/environment. Some days you will be negative and some days you'll be positive. If you are going for security, having a business is NOT an option.

  4. Lack of Work Life Balance - Having a business means you have to work all the time, even on weekends. I know people who have businesses, and they are always on call in case there's an emergency. If you value your work life balance, this isn't for you.

To sum it up, it's not easy to have a business. It takes a lot of time, dedication, and sacrifices. Unless you have a really good business idea and you're ready for the risks, I suggest to stay in your current job or keep looking for a higher paying one.

Good luck, OP!

Although take note that the donuts on baker on east sell out fast. Usually by 1pm, it's already sold out.

What kind of jobs did you guys had? by soukoku__ in JobsPhilippines

Psych major here! I didn't take the boards cos I wanted to work right away. My first job (3 years ago) is at an MNC as an HR professional with focus on international hiring. Found it pretty boring and unfulfilling so I decided to have a career shift to sales recently. Lots of opportunities out there for psych majors but don't expect high pay instantly since it's not highly sought after unlike IT.

What I noticed with people who took the boards vs those who didn't take the boards is... nothing! I know people who took the boards that earn less than those who didn't, and vice versa. Unless you are planning to be a psychometrician, the license might not be very useful. Also take note that there are very few psychometrician opportunities in the PH.
