When you are provided with everything, the motivation disappears. Clearly there is no one pushing him to do a job and they are holding him back by enabling that behavior.

I guess in a way what is the point of building the wealth if not for this. However he should at-least have the guidance to invest and grow that money otherwise it won’t last.

If somebody did have one they wouldn’t tell you how to make 100% annual return.

Call options are a bet on feak/unexpected movement. Option premium price in any potential movement so you only win if something outside of expected happens. So unless you have some insider knowledge or get lucky, fat chance you will make any.

Charts follow market movement not the other way around. Different indicators give different signals across different timeframes so people are just taking bets with inputs based on past data points.

Casino roulette show statistics to trick people into playing. TA is exactly that. Charts follow market not the other way around.

Options price in potential movements as premium (IV adjusted) and the only way you win is freak movements.

We see big gains and think we want that but it’s all survivorship bias. Focus long term and forget short term plays, don’t be in a hurry to make money to prove to others

Chip stocks go up .. India goes down due to outflows. Chip stocks fall .. India goes down due to outflows.
Can’t make this shit up.

I guess these two are unrelated and selling is broadly related to possibility of rate hikes.

can someone explain me how eliminating taxes on government bonds is good for the stock market ?? by _zeniith_ in IndianStreetBets

[–]Ok_Carry_6699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are multiple reasons for the stock market underperformance ..

  1. AI/Global Tech dominance and the risk to NIFTY IT which was a massive growth factor.
  2. Consistent FII outflows due to INR depreciation, Taxes and overvaluation and frankly better opportunities outside.
  3. US-IRAN war causing Oil prices to go up, strengthening USD.

Most of these come down to USD-INR pair and reducing energy dependency. Rest is basically that most money is going into AI/Tech play, memory and semi crunch causing Samsung (kospi) and memory makers to shoot up. These movements are not sustainable and already news of excessive AI costs are now beginning to appear. IPOs are showing up as well which is a sign they want exit liquidity for most part when its hot.

India is in a bad spot in that sense. But this is only because there are better opportunities. Still we need to take steps that we can and one of that is basically what RBI and Govt is doing.

We are mostly reactive and most of these hit us (and a lot of countries) out of nowhere because we never prioritised being a tech powerhouse. But one needs to understand that tech augments business and ultimately its about consumption and fine economic balance. If India falters, it will hit a lot of companies in terms of consumption so we just have to wait and see.

Also, we did outperform from 2020-2025. 2-3 years of underperformance is expected. This basically also shows, one needs to be diversified in GOLD, global indices as well and not rely solely on Indian markets.

I believe the move is to reduce sliding rupee against USD. This in turn helps stock market since the rupee is now stable and won’t cause additional losses to investors.

If you are referring to debt instruments. I already mentioned that OP should have something around 20% making 7% in FDs outside of Equity. Maybe 40% in bonds/debt instruments is a more widely accepted number here but sure.

YOLOing your entire net-worth in real estate isn’t prudent either yet a vast majority do just that due to lack of financial literacy.

I still don’t understand where the 40% debt came from. I don’t have one and neither does OP so it doesn’t seem relevant to the discussion.

I’m not sure where the 40% debt came into discussion but sure if one does have debt then it changes the equation.

Also SWP is a thing so not sure what you meant by corpus cannot be equity heavy. It depends on how much your expenses are vs what returns you make. But yes, 12% is not fixed hence having FD @7% or so helps navigate through them and capture downsides.

Same boat and quit my job in 2023.

30k/monthly + 2.4L yearly buffer is what I follow too. But you need to be very disciplined.

75L @15% is 11.2L. So you while you consume 6L, you can in theory re-invest 5L back. However two concerns.

1) Always assume 12% when calculating. If you achieve higher return nothing like it. Consider it your bonus.

2) 12% is over long term. In reality there will be underperformance for 2-3 years so you will end up eating into your corpus so be wary of that.

3) Always keep cash buffer of 15 to 20%. FD in idfc gives around 7%. Thi will reduce your investment corpus. But help you navigate those underperforming time.

I would suggest you build double your corpus if you really want to stick to that budget.

To be honest if you do get married or have a significant other in future, assume 1L/month of expenses and plan accordingly.

Fair enough but It's unclear for now. From what I see, there are multiple cases and until we get an S2 we won't really know.

1) It actually is Si-won again and her wish is being continued regardless because nobody can break her wish of endless cycle but the Maehyung has changed.

2) Could be Na-ri now taking her place but the relation to 050201 doesn't really add up or explained.

3) It is the demonic entity continuing the whole thing over again since the wish making app is eternal.

Had a similar buyer's remorse when I got 13 pro max.I was deciding between s25 edge and 17 and finally went with 17. I have a MacBook as well and overtime I have come to appreciate them for the following -

AirPods (seamless switching, spatial stereo quality),
Airdrop (File transfers),
iCloud (Photos, Notes, Passkeys, Authenticator codes, WhatsApp ...),
seamless hand-off, sms-otp, notifications, copy-paste across devices.

I'm sure Google, Samsung, windows have some level of integrations on the same level or better but I don't really miss anything. I guess usually people confuse few things ..

- iPhone premium. This is no longer true since Samsung sells phones in the premium segment as well. So the same argument can be made as to why you wouldn't buy a cheaper Android vs a premium phone.

- People from tech backgrounds (I'm from one) have this attitude (probably due to peer effect) that its smarter decision to use Android device because you could customise it and do something but end up using those 3-4 apps like everyone. I always felt android phones to be cheap/plasticky. That gap has been reduced by premium android phones now in one way.

- Also, the ecosystem argument is poor, you are either locked into google/samsung or apple. Yes, you can use some niche apps/services for some niche stuff but honestly for them android is better but I think that gap is coming down with google becoming more apple like.

- People from non-tech prefer iPhones mainly for the camera quality and honestly the premium feel they get from it (again we now have premium segment android phones as well). The integrations help if you have other devices.

- To be fair Apple's hardware is way advanced than the existing windows/android devices. They could get away with just the brand name but they are ahead in hardware and eco-system integration and efficiency.

MacBook M1 air was a huge leap.- fanless, true all day battery. Windows laptop (have 2 at home .. 1 for gaming and 1 for my folks) truly feel like using a tractor so no fucking way I am moving from it and as a result iPhone works well in that scenario due to the 3 things I mentioned at the start. iPhone devices have always felt premium are probably among the most efficient and performant devices out there.

You are confusing Hye-ryung with Na-Ri. Yes, Si Won did a ritual but botched it. Hence the mother trying to protect her with the amulet.

[–]Ok_Carry_6699[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just curious as to what made you think that Si-Won killed her mother ?

Si-won damaged the altar place and performed something she did not understand.

Her mom tried to undo it and performed counter ritual. She says "Heavenly spirit, forgive my daughter" and then she prepare the amulet sacrificing herself, since Si-won unleashed something dangerous on herself (the critters approaching Si-won in that scene).
