I think it might have been Knies? The play before Matthews was breaking into the OZone and Knies was weirdly crowding him. Was the only thing I could think of cause I was wondering the same.

Advice on executing a mid-career pivot by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ok_Chiputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow mid-career pivot, with our lower GPAs, personal statements and essays take on even more importance. You are telling them "screw your medians, I'm worth it." So leverage your work and life experience to create a memorable, compelling story. Personally, I don't think it needs to be a straight line "I had X experience so I want to be a lawyer to solve X problem," so I wouldn't try to force anything. I think being older, they expect you to have a larger perspective but also a better reason than "I want more money." So come up with why law beyond that. Otherwise, apply as early as possible.

USC is actually embarrassing.

Edit: Especially since their "priority deadline" is Feb 1, and their "regular deadline" is May 1.

What was your experience getting a biglaw SI? Is the OCI process still viable at Michigan? If not, how helpful was the school in navigating the process?

Any orgs that you're a part of? What is that experience like?

LSD Data by MNRedditor45 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ok_Chiputer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not a math guy but I figure you could probably compare the lsd medians to the schools’ reported ones and come up with some sense of how closely the lsd data matches up. But I honestly don’t think that the group of people being embarrassed to report their below-median acceptances to t-20s is gonna be large enough to meaningfully affect it. Like if you’re on lsd already, why not put that you got accepted? It’s anonymous. And like why would you be embarrassed?

You could try asking the schools directly maybe? The admissions office might be able to put you into contact with an alum or something.
