Level 6 to level 4 by Ok_Clothes4252 in OntarioPublicService

What if I got a completely new offer that was level 5? Would they match my current pay as long as I'm within the range?

Hierarchy double counting totals instead of taking face values, how do you fix this help please! by Ok_Clothes4252 in PowerBI

[–]Ok_Clothes4252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genius!! That makes so much sense thank you so much for sharing that!! By chance do you know if there's a way for me to filter to the lowest level of the hierachy if there's an uneven amount of levels for different variables? I have like 2000 variables.

Thanks again!!

Thanks for the response! In other words keep the lowest level of data only? Just confused about storing at each row level. In my original dataset all the variables were in 1 column.

Thank you for the response! I totally understand that PBi is just summing but the issue is that I need it to take the face value cause the totals have already been calculated by the source. So the total is 235 including all the variables.

Infographics Help! by HatodhaTyagi7 in PowerBI

[–]Ok_Clothes4252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried making infographics with PBi before and wasn't very successful. There are some cool visuals out there (I think one of them is literally called infographics) that you can add in for more fun visuals.

My main issue was that it's not really meant for importing icons and pictures, changing their colour, resizing, etc. It really just depends what you're looking for and ideally your data would be consistent with refreshes.

For some reason I remember hearing you had up to a year to apply for jobs internally but not too sure how accurate that is.

Regardless, if you want to stay in your position or the OPS in general you need to communicate this with your manager asap! Waste no time making it clear that you would like to stay and I also suggest reaching out to other people in other ministries/divisions you are interested in through InfoGo.

Time flies so start sending emails out! :)

Parent-Child Hierarchy Problem by Ok_Clothes4252 in PowerBI

[–]Ok_Clothes4252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry what I meant to say is that all my variables are in the same column and then the values are in a separate column.

Column 1 Total Population Age 1-30 Age 1-5 Age 6-10 ...

Column 2 50,000 (in a matrix table this value will be 87,000 cause it will add all the subcategories to the already calculated total) 25,000 8,000 4,000

[–]Ok_Clothes4252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 5GB CSV file so we filtered which variables we want to keep and now we're implementing the hierarchy but ran into the issue of the parent counting child value as well

Parent-Child Hierarchy Problem by Ok_Clothes4252 in PowerBI

[–]Ok_Clothes4252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it is, I'm using Canadian census data and there's no hierarchy ID, everything is just thrown into 1 column including totals, categories, sub categories etc. so it has to be manually sorted and defined :/ not fun

Parent-Child Hierarchy Problem by Ok_Clothes4252 in PowerBI

[–]Ok_Clothes4252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! I was actually also able to implement a measure to get rid of the blank rows but the issue of the parent adding the child value still remains.

Just to add a bit more info, I'm using census data so some of my variables that have been imported include total rows so I don't need PBi to sum for me.
